When one of Twilight's spells goes a bit awry, she finds that an affected Rarity might be a little more than she bargained for.
(Originally posted on EqD in April 2011. I originally meant to keep this as a one-shot, but wrote the second part after there was demand for it. I do like how the second part came out though, so no regrets!)

While the 'Twilight screws up a spell' trope is rather common in the early days of FiM fictions, there was no OC's or mindswaps at all.
This fiction was written an age ago, so im willing to forgive the use of twilight screwing up a spell.

I agree that Rarijack is a bit more interesting and compelling. I personally really like the one where a rodeo comes to town and Twilight Sparkle enforces the "dares" that Rarity and AJ were throwing at each other during the sleepover in Look Before You Sleep. ...now I wanna read that one again!

Adorable, but the story does suffer from the "show versus tell" issue. We were shown how Twilight's character handled the situation as it happened, so why were we simply told Rarity's side of the story instead of equally shown?

Not bad not bad at all, really enjoyed the story though wished there was a bit more to read if only to see how the two act as a proper couple. It is always fun to see that but regardless was a nice mini story to chew on as I rest up before reading one of the more -rubs eyes- massive ones. Oh sleep how I will miss thee...

In any case the execution is what matters. While most of what you said is irrelevant, as it's not part of this-- yes, Twilight screwing up a spell is not totally original. Something interesting: Very few things are. Pick any goddamm story off the front page and you can identify twenty different elements that somebody else has already used. That does not make them bad stories. The combination of elements, the new twists, and the execution are what matter.

While I could see it being interesting to have the perspective change from Twilight to Rarity throughout the story, the way it is now, with the revelation at the end, still works I think. I'm sure we all were kind of hoping it would end in that manner, and to have it been revealed earlier in the story with the perspective change could have ruined it a bit, in my opinion.

This is one of the bets written fics I've read. Definitely worthy of its EqD origins. As for its originality, who cares? The execution more than makes up for such a thing.

I'm starting to think that Twilight and Rarity may be my OTP. I loved this fic.
Yay, it's here! One of my favorite Raritwi fics! The "Twilight messes up a spell" card has been played a lot, but this was written well before it became stale. The only thing I really didn't like was Rarity figuring out the problem before Twilight. Twilight is the most powerful unicorn in history, versed in most forms of magic, and had access to all those spellbooks. But this is merely a small flaw in an otherwise sparkling gemstone.
Read this on Equestria Daily back in ancient times, good to see it's made it's way here. This is the first Twarity fic I ever read, I remember being surprised to see a Rarity shipfic that wasn't Rarijack. Coincidentally it's also my first experience with the "Twilight sucks at spells" trope.
Congratulations on getting featured, i'll throw you a like and a favorite for reminding me why Twarity is my favorite main six pairing.
