Yeah, you've got to be able to have fun with magic as a unicorn, but of course you've never been trained. 'Crawling' to walk was an excellent idea, and I think it's the first time I've seen that used as an explanation for how a human can suddenly walk (more or less) as a pony. None of the good-then-bad seems contrived either, so that works. I'm somewhat surprised at how well your parents took things, but we can chalk that up to shock or something. I'm sure it'll hit the fan now that they're back home again.

What a nice chapter. I was fascinated by how Soren shows signs fear of what the impact of being a mare has on him. Also, that "sister" slip-up. Oh wow.

My OC can be genre sawwy, too. I hope . He's just so shaken out of his mind that he's extremely evasive of facing the reality of his situation. Soren at least has the comfort of knowing the 'why' and 'how'. That, I tell you, is an immense burden off his shoulders, allowing him to perhaps think with better rationality than my OC (he's not telling us his name).

But... hmm, Soren's first night... Will there be a dream? Will it relate to his situation? Will it be wet? Will Soren like the dream? Will it be a nightmare instead? Oh, I can't wait what the next chapter brings!

I'm sorry you feel that way. Try thinking about this from a realist standpoint though. No person comfortable in their own life is going to cope well with a sudden change in species. Couple that with the stress of a familial visit, a sudden change in sex and the fact that a guy is inhabiting a body that isn't yours, and you have a situation rife with the awkwardness that keeps this guy from finding a way to cope right off the block.

There's also the chronological standpoint. He hasn't had Lyra's body for even a day yet. Even if I am playing this for comedy, it simply isn't reasonable for him to be like "Oh woe is me, I'm a pony and female now. Welp, now that the angst is out of the way... ADVENTURE!"

I understand your point, and I'm actually quite fond of both this story and First Pony View, generally because they manage to buck a number of cliches about HiE stories. Perhaps I should have said something along the lines of "While I like First Pony View, I was getting a little tired of the whole "I'm a filly now" angst, until the clues in the last chapter or two suggested that either the Human existence was a fictional one, or that the two minds had merged somehow. I considered that a nice plot twist." Then again I was typing my comment from my iPhone at the time, and I always try to make those comments as brief as possible, both because I generally am on my morning break when I'm reading pony fiction on it, and because i'm not good with the little touch screen keyboard.

This chapter was great. It sets up some more internal conflict that our beloved Sorren may have to go through in his near future. It's also a pretty nice way to show how Lyra and Bon-Bon met in the first place.
