At night a mysterious event happens: Tales of young foals being whisked away in the night and never heard or seen again. Celestia has commissioned the Royal Guard and multiple detectives to seek out any information about what goes on at night. Many of the ponies suspect Princess Luna, but Celestia refuses to believe until she sees with her own eyes.

I loved that video and your story portrays it well, it'll be interesting to see where you're going with this. I've liked and favourited this and I await more. My only qualm is that you should have a look back and capitalise the first word in each piece of dialogue. Also, this isn't really a grammatical error but it certainly helps the reader; you should put each piece of speech on a new line, it gives the writing more flow and it makes it a lot easier to read. Anyway, well done.

This is a thousand years before the show. Talking about nightmare moon and her first real try at taking the kingdom from Celestia.
Going to have to put this on my read later list as i'm currently in the process of writing my own version but don't want to be influenced by your story. Although i do look forward to reading it once i'm done with mine and see how they compare.

I like this whole idea of Nightmare Moon taking over Canterlot through the minds of the ponies, it makes a fair bit of sense if you think about it.

I think that its pretty much complete and stands well on its own...I mean I COULD do a Nightmare Moon version telling her side of the story; but I like my little story I made. I originally intended for it to be only 3 chapters, but of course it kinda grew, and I loved writing every second of it.
I'd like to see Luna's side to this story. All we hear about is Celestia's.
This ain't the feel I get at all from the anamatic. :c I feel more like she's taking the orphaned and the downtrodden, and giving them a home away from the old castle, and presenting unto them a place to live, of peace, and shadow. I dunno, just my own feels on it.

hey man this really is awesome great writing style. But it has some plot holes. for one the season 4 premiere says different, as better as your version is the shows creators voice is law. and 2, in the beginning of the PMV one of Luna's "children" is writing about the day when Luna took them in the garden of shadows. probably. and on that note she wasn't the monster that Luna was making. Seriously though, watch the video a bunch of times and you'll realize. But aside from that great job!!! Great story really enjoyed it. 4 STARS ! ! ! * * * *
