Wow neat story so far. The cocoons remind me of the aliens using humans for batteries in the Matrix.

Also the dream world reminds me of Coraline.

I must ask though; will the whole story revovle around Twilight's dream world or will it go through the other 5's dreams?.

It will indeed go into each of their dreams. Twilight's is the least complicated. I don't wan to ruin anything I have planned out for anyone wanting to read it, so that's all I will say.

Another interesting fact is that this was originally going to be a comic series, and I decided it was too involved for a first comic project.

So while everyone has different dreams, is this whole world basically a dream world but with different perspectives as mere "dreams"? Because in the previous chapter, Chrysalis said "your dream world," and yet I imagine them all being in a single dream world, especially with Pinkie Pie's actions.

Sorry if I'm thinking too hard about this. This one fact stumped me a little. Maybe I have to read on more..

It seems like a lot of people are confused about the Pinkie Pie angle! Don't think too hard about it, though, because it's actually playing off a very simple concept. Ever heard people say that Pinkie breaks the fourth wall? I won't say any more, except that I assure you, everyone is in their own dream world, and that Twilight's dream is almost at its end.

Also, future "Books" are not going to be named after the character who is dreaming, to try and retain some mystery and suspense. Twilight will not know whose dream she is in, and so I thought the reader probably shouldn't know either, until Twilight finds out as well.

Pinkie the fourth wall breaker...just say that if anyone's confused, and that will answer everyone's confusion. Now that I think about it, of course it should make some sense. I mean, even in dreams, Pinkie will do what she wants because she CAN!

I really like how this story is going. I saw the video and thought such a fairy-tale ending was sweet and all, but if this were a more epic series, I think I would be jumping out of my chair should it be the true ending. And it's very possible. To see it in a fanfiction, I am excited and also slightly terrified. Can't imagine what the other's dream worlds are like, but whatever. You got my attention!

Isn't it obvious. They alredy said how fast Rainbow Dash's mind is going. Daring Doo is very likely, but why would the library be there. I find it far more likely that Rainbow Das's mind is moving so quickly that her dream world is already 100's of years beyond the real world. Ponyville has been swallowed up by the ever growing Evergreen Forest. If this was just meant to be a jungle setting for a Daring Doo dream then the next part would not be called OBERGROWTH.

I'd like to share a revelation that I've had during my time here. It came to me when I tried to classify your species and I realized that you're not actually mammals. Every mammal on this planet instinctively develops a natural equilibrium with the surrounding environment but you ponies do not. You move to an area and you multiply and multiply until every natural resource is consumed and the only way you can survive is to spread to another area. There is another organism on this planet that follows the same pattern. Do you know what it is? A virus. Equestrians are a disease, a cancer of this planet. You're a plague and we are the cure.

This is a great story, it's very interesting.

For the sake of disagreeing with the above commentors, I say that it's really Fluttershy's dream, and that Fluttershy is Twilight's treehouse library.  Yay for randomness and being a smart-aleck.

That’s quite a first chapter. I do love the idea of Twilight being trapped in a dream world while Chrysalis feeds on her love. It is very Matrix-esque, isn’t it? I should read the second chapter when I get around to it.

That said, I have a beef with the Wachowski brothers and their terrible stabs at philosophy.

Neither Mammals nor any other Kingdom of Life have an inherent respect for balance or boundaries.

Ask an Australian about rabbits, cane toads, and/or camels.

In the USA there are colonies of wild boar brought over from Europe during colonization that are - in some areas - perfectly legal to kill at any time because they have no place in the local food chain, nothing in the territory is strong enough to prey on them.

I could keep going - my point is, animals only exist in equilibrium where it has been reached over the course of many generations, and only lasts because every part of the food chain is advancing and maneuvering for position at the same time - there is no instinct for it and individual living beings fight against it with all the passion of their beings. Plagues of Rats, Locusts, and Ants are easy examples of animals that regularly overstep their 'natural balance' and self-destruct their environments.

What humans are is the first multi-cellular life-form to manage to stave off the major consequences of their overstepping their 'bounds' for over a thousand generations. Technically blue-green bacteria have been doing the same ever since they introduced the corrosive metabolic poison known as Oxygen to the earth's atmosphere.

I have 11 books planned for this. It would take years to turn it into a comic... Especially considering my current skill level at drawing. (Yes, each word there is a different link )

Seriously, I would only disappoint, especially considering some of the images I've imagined in my head for some of the scenes so far in this fic. I get trapped in my own worlds as I make them, and my imagination is always far greater than my ability to represent it, probably even in writing.
