MLP / Phoenix Wright fic.
Inspired by me, beating Trials and Tribulations a few days ago.
Also inspired by Turnabout Storm series.
Enjoy, next part will be done soon, like... tomorrow or Monday.
I saw this pop up and thought "Whoever wrote this damn well better not screw it up," and then I saw DeiStar wrote it, so there's hope. I just bought Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney so I'll be reading this.
I saw the picture and I knew it was connected to Turnabout Storm. Reading it now.
octavia is pinkie's sister. you can see that in the cutie mark chronicles episode.
Haha, this is just great. Been a big fan of the games and just about any crossover involving them in some way, MLP being no exception to that. Love what I've seen of this story so far, though I have to admit, I probably never would have clicked on it had it not been for that cover image
It's just so perfect. Hope to see this continue soon, good luck!
It could have been a unicorn that done it.
A unicorn can use telekinesis and unless telekinesis leaves some sort of trace, it is a possibility![]()
They have a phoenix wright/mlp crossover on youtube. Phoenix is transported to Equastria to help defend Rainbow Dash. It is really good,
Wait... Vinyl is her sister?
There's something very night right going on here. ![]()
This is extremely well written. I think it's better than Turnabout Storm
You know, Bon-Bon. You screwed yourself. Celestia was already going to give you the guilty verdict. By calling another witness, you've left yourself wide open for plenty of attacks.
Just about everyone reading your comments would know about Turnabout Storm. After all, anyone reading this would be a fan of Phoenix Wright and MLP, and would have found it already.
IF ANYONE IS READING THIS AND THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHAT TURNABOUT STORM IS, GO HERE NOW!
Anyway, normally I would throw a story like this onto my read later list, but this is just too good to pass up, even though I haven't opened it yet.
I have been re-reading Fallout: Equestria and my Read Later list is in an atrocious state. (44! 44!)
EDIT: Considering it is 15th on the popular stories list at this time,
Sorry, I had to. Its the truth.
I normaly say "Nothing beats Phonix Wright..." But when I do... I go with Ponies... and Phoenix Wright... (Then again... Pony Ace Attorney...) BOOYAH! ![]()
Couldn't get enough Ace Attorney with a simple reference in Journey to My Imagination eh? Well, this story is just missing music links!
I saw an objection about the hoofprints. Anyone else notice it...
Heh. Turnabout Storm strikes again!
Incidentally, when I saw this line:
“Actually, the defense does,” Lyra claimed, slamming one hoof against the table with might.
I thought of this picture, mentally replacing Rarity with Lyra:
Lyra-as-Edgeworth is best Lyra.
MLP / Phoenix Wright fic. I see all the elements of that series here, adn i love it.
Good story, i didn't expect to see Bon Bon and Lyra fighting against each other any time, that a surprise for me ![]()
Looking forward to see the next chapter ![]()
Bonnie just made a mistake..... when the judge is ready to call her guilty verdict..... do NOT call another witness
this is the PW law, a witness is ALWAYS the culprit.... and overconfidence can shoot down any prosecutor
I am a big Ace Attorney fan, especially Investigations, so as soon as I saw this I was like,'must.......read........this........FANFIC!!!!!111111111!!!!!!!!!1'![]()

As an Ace Attorney fan I must say this is great so far! I'm surprised that Vinyl and Octavia are sisters but that's fine.
Celestia as the judge, eh? So Equestria is so peaceful and crime free the ruler of the country can just preside over all cases?![]()
That's always sort of bugged me, but I digress. This story is great and I can't wait for more.![]()
I'd like to see more Ace Attorney/MLP crossovers. I know of this one and one that's incomplete on Youtube. And I think an OBJECTION! pony emote needs to be made.
Aww it's over already? You can do so much more with this though! ![]()

Oh, lunch is on you, is it? Excuse us while we pick the most expensive resturaunt in town!
Very well handled, it reminded me of the games and now I wish I had them again.
Oh my gawd this story was awesome!
“Sure, why not? The defendant will be found guilty anyway.” Bon Bon rested her chin on her hoof, looking at Lyra with a smug on her face.
In other words, Bon Bon was looking like this:
I can't be the only one who thought of Manfred von Karma during Twinkleshine's breakdown.
Seriously though, awesome story!
Very nice idea, and well written as well.
I just think it feels... just a bit too similar to some AA cases, and a bit too predictable. Unless, of course, this was just a warmup for moar awesome AA/MLP crossovers! ![]()
I KNEW IT I KNEW IT I KNEW IT!!!!!! YES!!!!! YESHUHJKHGDJF GHJKDSFH SJKDGKLGJKLSGJKGJSDKLGJG GABAGUUUUUUUUU![]()
Nice sir very nice. I have never had the pleasure to play said ace attorney games but have known of them. From the way this is written I think I might just check them out now.
WHAT DID YOU SAY? I DON'T CARE HOW GOOD THIS IS, THAT GUY SPENT ALMOST A YEAR ON THAT THING, INVITING VOICE ACTORS, ANIMATORS, HELL, HE EVEN HAS A GAME IN THE WORKS AND YOU HAVE THE BALLS TO CALL THIS BETTER?!!
Not to say the story is bad, no, it's incredibly good and is getting a like and favorite, but WHAT IS THIS SHIT?!!
FOR SHAME!!
You can't end like this. You HAVE to continue! I'm gonna watch you in preparation!![]()
Yes, unicorn magic was used to kill the victim. Totally called it.![]()
Wait it's over? OBJECTION!
But I really liked this! Just like Ace Attorney. The witness breakdown was just like in the games!![]()
Good job!![]()
You'd think a unicorn's telekinesis would leave some sort of magical residue on the objects it touches. For that matter, I can't imagine hoof prints being much more identifiable than, say, nail prints.
>>Dante Kami
Dante Kami appears to have been strangeled to death!
Do we have a witness?
“With the ‘last of her strenght’? Sounds weird to me,” Lyra claimed.
Hate to be 'That Guy' but i thought you would like to know.
My impression on the first case
I demand MOAR!!!!
It was a bit predictable as the case progressed, but definitely not too shabby. An intriguing story to be remembered for years xD
>>Delstar
I think we need some post-breakdown artwork of Twinkleshine!![]()

*slams desk*
Your Honor, I have evidence that Twinkleshine and Minuette are somehow related!
Judge: Then show us this evidence, Mr. Storm!
TAKE THAT!
Excellent work. I loved every second of it, just like the games!
Although I must say, Twinkleshine is rather quick to admit guilt. A couple of contradictions, some accusations and she's broken. Was there even evidence to connect her with the actual murder? Or am I missing something? ![]()
Thats how things usually go in a Phoenix Write game. One of the witnesses ends up being guilty and confesses.
I know that's how it goes, but that's not my point. I'm saying there was no evidence to actually incriminte her as the murderer until her confession. I know that it's a witness that's guilty 95% of the time, but as they say, it's all conjuncture without hard evidence. It's the presentation of that incriminating evidence that sends them spiraling into a breakdown, and ultimately their confession. Twinkleshine easily could have brushed all these accusations off with lack of evidence and gotten way scott-free.
THEN AGAIN, the first case of the first game went in a similar way, in that every lie was simply torn apart until he admitted guilt; again, without actual evidence; so I guess I can see why you would try a similar approach. Even then, I didn't understand it, though.
In conclusion, I suppose that she might admit guilt like that if she was put on the spot, nervous and unsure. With each lie broken, she could get more and more disheveled until she just snapped? Maybe. But I still see Twinkleshine as the kind that would demand hard evidence before her conviction. Plus, it would have been nice to see a final piece of evidence blow everypony away, rather than accusations. I'm not saying that this ruins the fic, but it's just something that could have made it that much better.
“Okay, and after going back, you saw the body of Ms. Minuette, right?” Lyra guessed.
This is leading the witness. Although I'd understand why Bonbon wouldn't bother exercising her right to object to such a trivial instance of it.
Looking interesting so far.
That pony had the guts to call her a third-rate cellist, something that would piss anypony.
I sure hope it wouldn't piss anypony. That sounds messy.
"'How’s going?'"
"How's it going?", right?
Celestia is a terrible judge. She makes improper commentary and pretty much destroys proper atmosphere.
Other than that, great story! ![]()
Magic could have been used to wield the instrument and commit the murder as well, besides hooves don't even have good grips, she would've had to hold the cello by the fingerboard/hoofboard and swing it, also i'm pretty sure she would need a good amount of strength to hold it and hit somepony in the head.
"If the lights were off, the murder would have occurred in the dark. Seeing her victim's body or her blood, may have been enough to make her faint."
Hold it! The blackout did not occur until after the murder. Are you saying the lights were turned off before the blackout?
"However, that’s the problem. That only your hoofprints were on it. If anypony else did it, naturally, their hoofprints would be all over your instrument!"
Objection! The murderer might have have worn boots to hide their prints or, if they were a unicorn, used telekinesis.
I'd like to not have to potentially hunt down a sequel, so if the new story could be placed with the old one, that would be great.
just like Game 1 Case 4 of Phoenix Wright
by the way, make the next case "harder", that one was easy, If if had decided to reread Chapter 1 before going over to Chapter 2, I would have been able to clear it.
Still I like how this is one of only 2 Ace Attorney X-overs which are well-written AND are not just pure clones of the original PW games (even though there are LOTS of similarities between them)
My reaction to the first 3 lines: "Shit shit shit shit shit shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit."
Hmm... I can see several places where Lyra could get this thrown out - and not just in the U.S. law either - on violating Octavia's Right to a Fair Trail.
Violation of Due Process by going straight to trial, they did not notify her of the charges against her in a timely manner, they did not allow adequate time and means for the preparation of a defense, and most importantly, violation of the Right to Counsel by not letting her speak to Lyra before the trial, all of which violates, on Earth anyway, at least three treaties on Humanitarian Law.
I really enjoyed the story. It felt exactly like an Ace Attorney game. Since I have basically the entire sound track to the games, I played different songs while reading this and the story got twice as cool.Thank you Dei Star for such an amazing story.
