Battlestar galactica and Mlp? I must say, my interests have been piqued.
Mother of God... Dat wall of text. Use the bloody enter key mate, it's you friend, not your enemy. It makes it a lot easier for the reader. Walls of text like these are rather intimidating, and it would be really pity if you scared someone away, because the story is pretty good.

I've gone back and tweaked the spacing; hopefully it's easier on the eyes. I made the scene breaks more visible too, to make it easier to read in multiple sittings. Longchap is long, and all that.

Yeah, since chapters 1 and 2 are roughly paralleling the miniseries they're going to be pretty big. Once past that I'm hoping to do shorter chapters, up until the finale.

Well, this has been on my To Read list for a long while now - along with 104 other stories. But if I had known that Spitfire is listed as one of the major characters I'd have read it much sooner, since it was a (somewhat specific) search of Spitfire stories that led me here again.
Anyway, I just read the first two chapters and I must say that your writing style is very much to my liking. The everypony scene in the first chapter was very enjoyable, the narration is to the point but still rich, and you're not afraid to use dashes, italics for emphasis and (gasp) semicolons correctly. Very nice indeed to see grammar and style used so well to convey the story in an effective way.
And since it's pretty late here already I'll have to read the other chapters tomorrow, but that gives me the privilege of suspense and pretending having to wait for more chapters. So far there was no Spitfire in sight - is she gonna be a Lt. Hawkeye grade badass? Will she even get shipped with someone good (like Twilight? dl.dropbox.com/u/31471793/FiMFiction/Twilight_Sparkle_lolface.png ) Romance seems to be a popular theme in this story already. I also never much cared for Battlestar Galactica, but I'm a huge Stargate fan and those series had seen their fair share of rusty spaceships with limited resources. Oh, the places this story could go ... But I'm sure you'll have thought of something good.
Also, this story is waaaaaay too underread for its quality.

My technique's not where I want it to be, yet. In fact I'm making an editing run later today to try and spruce up the existing chapters.
I imagine by now you've seen some Spitfire; I hope you like how she handles herself. I won't lie: she and Twilight aren't going to be a thing in this fic, but if you like the way I write her I'll add a Twifire shipfic to my to-do list.
You won't have to pretend to wait for more, I'm afraid: the latest chapter has been a beast. Still, I'm chipping away, and hope to have it up before Night Mare Night. I'm super-picky though, and won't knowingly release an inferior product. I just hope everypony finds it worth the wait!

May need another edit run in a week or so, too.
Finally got back to reading this again. A very good story so far and a little more Spitfire, too. Never expected to see the Smooze appear in this story, but it certainly felt like a much more real threat than whatever could have been presented in mlp. I'm usually pretty easy to please, but this is quickly becoming one of my favorite stories.

I. Wow. I just finished BSG the other weekend. I found this while looking for ponizations of the cast... didn't expect it to be worth much--the more 'obscure' crossovers do tend to be crossovers for the sake of crossovers...
I need more.
This was AMAZING! The way the characters were woven into the cast, the way the ideas of BSG and Galactica are woven together... Fantastic :)
I eagerly look forward to reading this in a way I haven't anticipated any pony fic since Fallout Equestria.

Now I'm sad there won't be any more of this fic. It was a good chapter end, but this one's really good and I was really hoping to see more of this universe. But I won't keep hoping with the chapter being four years old.
