Seems a bit odd that Celestia can sever Chrysalis's connection with her hive so easily. Especially if it would have saved her an asskicking. Plus wouldn't it be safer for the human to be in his own world rather than in the world the changelings came from?

Long answer: Luna was researching spells to defend against the changelings. One was isolating a changeling from the hive. Celestia was not aware of that spell when she first fought Chrysalis (I don't even think she knew what changelings were). As for why Celestia brought the human to Equestria and not leave him on Earth, while I haven't gotten to the full explanation of that in the story, basically the hive was split in two and only the half on Earth got the order to kill him. There, plot holes filled.

So why is Anthony calling the princesses Celestia and Luna? I mean I'm an irreverent bastard at times, but if I found out there is such a thing as a magical  unicorn with wings and enough magical heft to move a bloody star, you'd better believe I'd be calling her Princess and ma'am.
