It is obvious that Derpy has concealed in her mane or tail hair, the infamous and luckily rare Murphy Tick. We may all thank the Elder Gods that only one of these exist at a time. The first was created thousands of years ago by the inadvertent mating of a Chaos Flea from Discords left ear and one of the notoriously hot blooded Phoenix Feather Mites.  Little is known of the life cycle of this pest other than that it reproduces in the same manner as the Phoenix.

Also this reminds me of one the lyrics from the famous song from "Annie Get Your Gun" called "Anything you can do I can do better."
