Adventure! Manic, gleeful and fun --
What more is there to the life of the young?
Gambolling and traipsing and running around,
Discovering all the spots where excitement abounds;
Laughing and playing all day and night,
Shrieking alternately with glee and with fright.

It's a strange kind of kinship, binds children together,
Few expectations, fewer still laws -- in spirit or letter;
Just whatever happens to be the goal of the day
And the bountiless toils of commensurate play.
Yet for three in their prime,
They feared yet the time,
When Time came to take them away.
