I'm also glad there's another dragon that's not a anger filled beast. Ember is cool...but shes got issues.

I don't like the wingless part, too similar to Ember without enough backstory to justify it. Were her wings removed? Did she lose them in an accident? Is it a birth defect? Needs more information as to the How and the Why.

Also the transition from delinquent to victim was a little too fast, should've been drawn out a little more. Somebody who was raised like she was would probably have alot more difficulty trusting strangers, particularly one who just spent the last three days beating her unconscious repeatedly. You kinda skimmed over that part, needed more detail to explain why she'd trust someone who would do something like that.

Robert Heinlein introduced his version, called World-As-Myth around 1980.  The basic premise is similar:  Every story ever written is a "real" living, breathing world.  Some are, of course, "better" than others.

His characters find this out the hard way when one discovers the truth, and a way to get into these stories, and some critters who don't like that come to kill them.

Huh, this is the first time I've ever seen that name and actually pronounced it correctly. I've always said "Na-ree-you". Is that really how it's spelled? Am I blind or something? Oh, this has so far been the most depressing of your stories. Eternal Twilight comes close, but this one just seems to have the weight that comes with reality. I don't know why the writing seems so different, but it feels like I'm reading a different author. I've always read your stories for their humor, and though this does have humor, it is very realistic. It goes a lot more into one of the biggest problems I've ever seen in a story where the main character can't die, and that is the question of how they react when those they care about pass on. Most characters are sad for a day or two, then get over it. Others just don't care at all. You hit grief on the head with this though. You have fully captured that feeling of pain, and the way that it lessens, but never actually leaves. I congratulate you once more on an impressive story. Also, thank you. You have inspired me to write more often, and I am always happy to read your stories, even the sad ones.
