I honestly didn't think that rainbow would be the first to go, but it makes a lot of sense. She would be on the front lines, probably with the Wonderbolts or something. I wonder what positions the other mane 6 are filling and if they're in immediate danger, as well...
A simple, sad ending.... I truly felt for this one. Just something about the loss of war...
Well, on to the next. At least, as a reader, I can move on to another world where everything is and there's a happier ending.

Glad you caught that! Her helping with Scootaloo is really her way of redeeming herself with Air, at least in my eyes. Though she knows that it will never be the same, she feels obligated to Scootaloo because of that fact alone. Rainbow feels like she didn't do enough for Air, so she is trying to do everything for Scootaloo.
