Everypony for miles around was lying on the ground in pain, wondering what in the name of Discord had just happened. Ponies may or may not have been screaming (it was difficult to tell), but it was obvious that an event more powerful and more violent than any natural disaster had just occured, leaving devastation everywhere. Ponies were gradually picking themselves up, some more shocked than others at what had just occured.

Everypony was suffering... except Granny Smith, who was completely oblivious to what had just happened, and wondering what had happened to everypony. But apart from her everypony was suffering.

Twilight felt so frustrated. Angry at herself for attending the party and losing her hearing, angry at Pinkie for taking her there to lose her hearing, and even angry at the Princess who had been foalish enough to use Caps Lock and the dreaded RCH simultaneously.

She couldn't think coherently, with the ringing, the pain and the trickling sensation down the sides of her face from her ears.

She then somehow heard a sound, like a voice. It almost sounded like her mentor's voice. Except it was coming from the direction of the moon, which was very strange.

What in Equestria is going on now?

"Little sister, whatever shall I do with you!? Using the Royal Canterlot Voice and Caps Lock AT THE SAME TIME!? WHAT IN EQUESTRIA WERE YOU THINKING!? Give me one good reason that I should not banish you to the moon all over again right now!"

"Because I'm your sister and you love me so much?"

"Yes, but that is no reason to allow a potential threat to remain in Ponyville! I have had so many written complaints from towns in the Ponyville area in the past half hour that I was literally WADING THROUGH THEM!"

"Sorry, Celly" Luna was currently trying to hide her entire body behind her long, flowing, navy mane.

"Let me show you something, Luna!" Celestia's horn began to power up and suddenly both Princesses found themselves on the moon.

"Celly, what are we doing..."

"PERHAPS YOU DID NOT REALISE IT BEFORE, BUT THE ROYAL CANTERLOT VOICE IS NOT TO BE USED LIGHTLY. THE FACT THAT YOU SO STUPIDLY ABUSED THIS POWER PROVES THAT YOU ARE NOT YET READY TO ASSUME YOUR FULL RESPONSIBILITIES AS PRINCESS OF THE MOON!!"

The effects of the words were far more powerful than the words themselves, for Luna could no longer hear the words through the blood and torn tympanic membrane that now filled her completely destroyed ear canal. There was little that Luna could do now apart from cover her head with her hooves and cry.

Thankfully, her older sister's tirade was over soon, and she found her ears magically restored.

Celestia's voice had calmed to normal levels. "Luna, now you know the pain you have given to others. Now you are to go back to Ponyville, and you are to restore everypony's ears to how they were before. Now, you may go."

And so everypony's ears were restored, and Caps Lock Day was banned forever.
