Just a nice, polite Canadian.

E

There's a man who works at my job in the basement.

He says his name is Derek. Not many people like Derek. People say he's weird and tends to lie. Derek says he was tricked and isn't supposed to be here at all.

He also says he used to be the Chaos King back home.

And here I just wish he'd stop screwing around with the coffee in the breakroom.

I love how it characterizes Discord. The alternate dimension really screwed him over.

They might actually be glutton free.

The Dairy of Deliciously Deranged Derek

I‘m sure

The apostrophe is the wrong way around.

And in less he’s purchased

Who says they’re even be a next time?

They want it by the forth.

I've either completed some kind of Discord Bingo, or I've found a bunch of errors. Honestly never sure with a piece like this.

As for the story itself? Brilliant.

This was really well written and had an original idea. Suffice to say, I really enjoyed it. Keep up the amazing work.

Taylor have no taste, the Yellow submarine is a classic!

No Steve in this story.

I like it, a very unique take on Discord. Just think, he will probably outlast humans.

Glen Gorewood

This was hilarious and kinda sad..

The Dairy of Deliciously Deranged Derek

Also, Derek was turned into crazy milk!?

Mm delicious Discord.

Now I want to know how things pan out between those two...

I will say that the first door snap, was a lot stronger than the last door snap, until it was revealed that it was a trick. I think it should have been reversed, that he revealed the remote on the last one with the "whatever makes you sleep at night" spiel. That first door closing was terrifying given the context and it was somewhat neutered when it was revealed to be fake.

Otherwise, it was an interesting take on Discord. I rarely get to see Discord act as a villain anymore and it makes me miss his roots.

Even if Discord doesn't die if ever his human body gets murdered, what happens to all the magic he has been building up?

They don’t just let rambling sociopaths into the White House!”

Woooooookay, this is awesome. Accountant Discord is a disturbingly sad/fun Discord. I'd actually want to see more of this version. I know the chances of that are slim but I can so imagine this as a series.

“Not exactly,” Derek elaborates. “Oddly enough, you pictured me as a type of wizard at first, but that is exactly the type that trapped me here. A wizard by the name of Starswirl. And in less he’s purchased a rather sharp razor since the last time I saw him, he has a large beard, as well. He also happens to be a unicorn of the most loathsome variety.”

Should be unless.

Really good! I'd love a sequel. :)

The story tried too hard to be several different things, as your Author's Note described. Any dark theme was ruined by the comedy. The comedy was spoiled by the mood suddenly shifting to dark. Felt a bit disjointed. I would have probably preferred two separate versions, one with each of the themes you wanted to try.

7641195 Good thing Trump is losing.

7641344

I was thinking on Nixon, but yeah.
Sadly, Hillary is not much better than Trump. That's why bipartidism doesn 't work (for the common people; for lobbists is pretty sweet).

7641362 Hillary's actually a lot better: she lies way less often than trump(and when she does lie it's generally a much less flagrant lie), her "scandals" are all empty (benghazi? she actually improved security at the embassy, and by the time she was informed of events the whole affair was over. Emails? Only three emails were even kinda-sortof marked as classified, two weren't classified at all and the third was only technically classified), she's got actual experience, and she's not profoundly ignorant regarding why we don't just use nukes.

A character's attitude should not affect the overall structure of a story.

[Edit] The fact that people thumbed this down worries me greatly.

This is really well written and creative. I like your narrators' voice, grumpy, sarcastic and just a little bit unnerved by it all, and I like the sense of increasing claustrophobia and unease throughout too.

7641382
7641362
Who appears to be losing matters little; anyway the winner will be chosen by Putin:moustache:

7641469
...That's not how themes work. I was also not criticizing Discord's attitude, or how he was portrayed.

I criticized the actual structure of the story, which, if I might remind you:
The author already admitted to being random.

If Discord had an alternate form in this story, it would be Tim Berners Lee. He who brought the greatest chaos ever to humanity. :pinkiecrazy:

Taylor really should get some Strawberry Jam filled Cupcakes for next time. Giving Derek the Raspberry is funny, until he causes that particular mutation in a cell in a certain family area.

Given the number crunching, I take it Discord has already analyzed CERN for the power requirements, and is now running brane convolution matrices in order to work out just where Equestria is. After all, he could return there tomorrow, but still have taken a thousand years thier time, even if it was a step away by light speed. Of course, given the mirror existed before he stepped through it, thats where he can aim for to use it to get back, as long as he doesnt intersect on the return, as paradoxes dont like being created. Maybe bounce the return trip off the moon for the delay. :trollestia:

But above all, dont forget the first rule of Absolute Power and Knowledge.

Its A Trap. :twistnerd:

Wait, there is only one chapter?

I was really hoping that more would come after. :fluttershysad:

7641541

But above all, dont forget the first rule of Absolute Power and Knowledge.

.

Actually, that's an oft misquoted maxim from Lord Acton, and he was speaking of political power; the implication being that those who seek high office are generally those who wish to abuse the power they gain for themselves.

As for knowledge, there is no such classic quote with regard to possessing absolute knowledge.

7641382 You people amuse me.

I can't wait until your screaming how horrible things are after two years of Chairman Clinton.

7641391 A character's own nature should not impinge upon the structure of a story itself unless the character is the one narrating the story, which can then be used as a model of the unreliable narrator; this is the case with Camus' "L'etranger", in which the central character's own bizarre personality comprises the narrative tone and structure.

It does not work in a 3rd-person narrative, however in which the audience is given the role of 'omniscient voyeur'.

7641362 Both candidates are the worst possible choices. This reflects badly on the electorate as a whole, in that they are easily swayed by media hyperbole and tabloid-level politics.

But, this is in keeping with my predictions based on the hyper-prevalent Facebook self-whoredom obsession and reality show craze.

Shallowness rules, and soon everything will be in place according to my designs. :trixieshiftright:

7641821
You could, alternatively, simply say that you agree with me. :/

kul

Reminds to those weird short stories by Neil Gaiman ot Stephen Kings.. Which is very very good! Well done!

Discord! Fell God of Chaos, and Accounting.

7641815 You got any citations to back up your view that Clinton will be bad for the country? Even her opposition has described her as more years of obama, which is actually a good thing, given that Obama's been good for the country.

I actually backed my view of just how vast the gulf is with proof. I don't see any proof, or even weak evidence, in your post. As such, I am not the least bit convinced. Is there some point in my post that I didn't back up with proof which you'd like to see backed up with proof? if so, ask for a citation rather than simple dismissal of my argument.

7641382 Eh, I'm not much into politics, but I gotta say this much.

What we need is a real redneck to run this country! Someone who would proudly walk up to the stage and shout, "ALL THESE POLITICIANS ARE F:flutterrage:KIN' IDIOTS!" then just leave with that as his speech. Personally, it would be the most intelligent speech I've heard come out of anyone's mouth up there. :rainbowlaugh:

"And now, let the hate commence..."

7642395 Hate? Nah. That would be kinda funny, but in practice, I'm rather fond of actual competence and intelligence in whoever is president. This generally means they should have prior experience in government.

Oh, and Politicians do sometimes say sensible things-should I dig up some examples?

Could you guys discuss politics somewhere else? This section is for commenting on the story

I love this, awesome discord

7642524 Eh, I wasn't really planning on discussing politics, as it isn't really my strong suit. :rainbowlaugh:

Wow. Smoking Pot with a 4000+ Years Old god of Chaos.
That sounds like a good title for an animated short.
Or a cool spin off.

please make more to this story.

They don’t just let rambling sociopaths into the White House!

This was a fun read. I found it was a good kind of creepy.

I'll be honest, when I first clicked this story. it was out of curiosity. I expected it to be dull or boring. But boy was I wrong. This was a great story where everything was on point. Pacing, characterization, roller coaster tycoon deaths. It was a perfect. Especially the creep factor, what with Halloween around the corner, it was just what I needed.

> Reading in my bed before I pass out

"They don’t just let rambling sociopaths into the White House!"

> Pregnant pause in reading
> Look up into the darkness
"Really?"
> Continues reading.

Great fic! Thumbs up.

Oh! :pinkiegasp: So many comments on such a weird story? Can't wait to read some of... oh, no. It's all useless political crap... :pinkiesick:

7643568 Thanks! :pinkiehappy:

7643484 It's definitely an odd story to say the least. Surprised by its success so far, honestly. :applejackconfused:

7643391 "Good kind of creepy". Why can't girls say this about me more often? :unsuresweetie:

7643211
7643050 Thinking about it. :moustache:

7642525 Glad you enjoyed it!

7641936 Considering those are two of my favorite authors, that's quite the compliment! :yay:

7641407 Thanks for saying so! :ajsmug: The character of "Taylor" is probably the closest incarnation to my real self. Maybe because my first name is also Taylor. :applejackconfused: And now I want to smoke some pot with a Chaos King.

7641271 You never know! I cave under demand rather easily.

7641240 Corrected! Thanks. :scootangel:

7641201 Tempting. But things would need to escalate quite a bit to keep things interesting. Not just... oh, look Derek stole all the upstairs toilet paper. :facehoof: BIGGER! WEIRDER!

7640909 Steve = Taylor. Mystery solved. Velma strikes again. :raritystarry:

7640763 He didn't think it was a bad song, just... sort of creepy when played nonstop. :pinkiecrazy:

7640723 Corrected! Repeatedly! Uploading a 7k story, I knew there'd be more mistakes than usual.

7640557 He just has to be careful and actually survive on Earth for a thousand years to get his revenge. Or get enough magic back to return early. :rainbowdetermined2:

7643812 I have no idea how you managed to type the apostrophe the wrong way around.

7643820 You dare question my ability to make impossible mistakes?
