The idea and the way you give the characters live is really really good. But unfortunately you are  bouncing to quickly between what you want to write to you catch me properly. In my headcanon, if the Elements of Harmony fail, then the Poem of the Sun or the Poem of the Moon are recited, it can have a lot of effects on the land. They are mostly used to intimidate the other nations or to supress any war that might reach Equestria. Cadence gave Grozny the ancient poems, knowing that his capture was imminent and needed to get away.
