I agree it does sound like something Pinkie would do just for a friend, but why write friendship when you can ship!
I wanted to write some FlutterPie ever since the 'what episodes to you want to see' page derailed into 'Why we need more Flutterpie', so this was just an excuse.
I do agree that there were some aspects really wanted a bit more fleshing out, and had I given myself a bit more time I would have done that, but this was partly me forcing myself to put something up instead of growing a larger and larger pile of almost-finished fics. Hopefully it didn't take to much away from your enjoyment, and you said you really liked it so I'll assume it didn't.
Also, while you didn't have to get your big guns out, it never hurts

I enjoyed both the premise and the delivery. Unlike many a ship fics, this didn't feel rushed at all. Opening with a memory did set the tone nicely. Keeping both with in their general character, but not locked down added a lot of believability to the story. Rarity would approve.
