...this is a silly thing to seriously debate about. It's a dumb thing to say. Yes, it's what someone who is enchanted would say. It's also what someone who isn't under a spell would say. The main character said it and he isn't mind controlled. That's the entire joke. That's what's always the joke when that line is used in a story.
