So much win, you're a genius for coming up with this little plot bunny. The execution was well written and delivered to. I've seen you around the site in the comments of stories so it was nice to see a familiar face come up with a great story concept like this. Something to keep in mind: this story being about Riven, one champion of like 100 in the League of Legends game, does mean most people won't realize/know where she's from etc. So expect confusion and ignorance on that front.

It's off to a great start, I'll be keeping an eye on this!

I'm constantly floored by the quality of your writing and the frequency of your updates. Do you have all of this done up already and are just submitting them slowly or something? Either way, well done.

I'm enjoying your characterization of both Riven and the ponies. It really feels like you have a grip on their characters and how they might react in a situation like this. The character quirks as well, are executed greatly. Pinkie being a spazz about hard frosting, Twilight's adorkableness, Rainbow and Riven being "boss" etc.

I'm liking this more and more with each new chapter, and I'd already freaked at the first one, so like, damn dude. I'm going to end up marrying a print out of this story if you go past 12 chapters at this rate.

No, I don't have these done ahead of time, but I have notes and it's not hard to piece them into a workable chapter in a fairly short period of time. I'm also posting them at about a twenty or so hour interval, but for some reason this site hasn't noticed the change of day yet, so it looks like all were posted on the same date.

Nocturne must of tagged along when he used a nightmare on Riven before she got summoned out of there. But damn.. Nocturne in Equestria.... I figure'd he'd hunt down every Unicorn in existance since he did hunt summoners down in their dreams to kill them.

I think Fluttershy is going to change him. She held up surprisingly well to his influence. Maybe we'll see a romance build there. Would be a total curveball.

I'm not sure if Riven will recover in time to champion the ponies given that she's bed ridden and still grievously wounded, while Nocturne is at full strength. It doesn't fit the tone of the story, but I think it'd be hilarious if he'd tried his hands at Pinky only to come away disturbed, or he falls asleep and she's in HIS dreams calling him a grumpy meanie or some other thing. Pretty funny to think about.

You have my attention sir! The readers must know how Equestria will manage with this horrible turn of events!

I'm guessing Nocturne is amok. Yay, one of my favourite champions is appearing but he's also going to be an evil bastard and kill stuff we love. I'm conflicted with this.

So she brought back the nightmare

I like your portrayal of Celestia in how she's fiercely protective of her ponies. So many people portray her as a very understanding patient matriarch without keying in on some of the more subtle possibilities. She's still that in your story, but she's also willing to make harsh judgements to protect her kingdom. Keeping the alien being locked up in the cage and now with the furious accusation against Riven for bringing something with her when she was yanked from her own realm without choice.

I can easily see this in her character after fighting forces like Discord making the ponies miserable and even having to banish her own sister to protect the kingdom. After all that, any other threat to the prosperity of her kingdom would need to be put down immediately, or all that she'd been through would have been for not.

I might be reading too into it, but all the same I'm enjoying this Celestia you're writing as it shows her in a more complex light.

I can't help noticing that you changed some things as to suggestion but not all. Counterspell really would do better as simply counter, and Dash wasn't lulled, she was knocked out.

With that title, I found myself skipping ahead to the end to find out who dies so I could mentally prepare myself. Essentially, your story has managed to emotionally engage me. There's only a few stories that have made me do something like that, so, well done.

With this chapter I repeat my statements about your portrayal of Celestia from last time, and then up you an "Awesome job on tying Nocturnes backstory/history into Equestrian lore!"

A little error note: that last sentence was dramatic as hell, and a perfect finish, but the "Through" was a "Though" so the impact was lessened.

The plot thickens even more! Elements that were good about this chapter? The frightening reaction of Riven's height, the complexity of Shining's emotional and mental state, the touch of comedy when Riven tries to get some privacy to dress, and, of course, the suspense from that chapter ending.

I especially liked the yell out between Riven and Rainbow, that was just awesome. Sometimes friendships aren't just about getting along but getting into fights over stuff like being suicidal while wounded. Not many stories have that when the character is friends with one of the ponies.

Ah crap, just when you think you get the upper hand, he pulls out the trump card. Things are going to bet crazy next chapter, that's for sure. Ya keep leaving us with these cliff hangers. You're either just very good at keeping us hooked or yer somewhat sinister and like torturing us with anticipation.

I'll admit I was a little annoyed with Shining Armor this chapter. I just couldn't picture him actually knowing what it was like to be given orders a soldier finds morally disagreeable with a ruler like Celestia. Especially at the level of what Riven went through. So that means he was just saying things that he was aware of that could help, but doesn't truly understand.

Thanks for the kind words, as always. However, I did have some vague idea behind Shining Armor's comments; more so than him just saying crap to make Riven feel better. It might not be quite as extreme as what she experienced, but he's not, as Spartan Shield said, a "battle-virgin".

It'll be interesting to see how you spin things with Shining Armor. I'm only used to seeing him being portrayed as competent and powerful, but still untested in combat. Like a boyscout knight. The one battle we know of, the wedding, he spent under a spell up until the end where he unleashed his shield, so not even that counts. You'd already started taking him down a different road in this chapter, from the boyscout to commander, and it sounds like you have some world-building type stuff in mind for him so I'll be looking forward to it. I wasn't sure if that was the case, or if he was just saying "sweet nothings" to get her head in the game for the short term. Kind of like a "She can be disappointed with me and settle her existential crisis after the threat is dealt with." thing.

Well, Riven is up on the free champion rotation and I am having a lot of fun playing her which made me remember this story.  I am really hoping you will continue this, although Riven should probably not be using my "oh hey, no one else on my team is building defense, time to go full tank" build.  That would result in an hour long final battle with Noc where the two just sit there flailing ineffectively because Riven cannot kill anything and Noc cannot do anything through Riven's insane defenses.

Riven died.........OBJECTION, there has to be more to it than that good story though
