Well, this wasn't as funny as I thought it would be.  But good nonetheless.  You have my thumb, if for no reason other than for a pleasant read.

    Thank you.

Yeah, I wasn't really going for a funny spin, though I can see how it'd be possible.

Golden Delicious, I guess that your coffee was too strong, bitter, and/or there wasn't enough sugar in your coffee.

I don't like too strong coffee. But I like not strong and not too much bitter coffee with sufficient amount of sugar.

I didn't think it was actually possible to be poetic about something so simple as a cup of coffee, but you sir have opened my eyes. Well done!:raritywink:

Very nicely written fic. Like someone else said, practically poetic about something so magical yet mundane as a morning cup of coffee. I hope this continues.

Despite not drinking coffee at all, I find this pleasing.  Kind of like the smell of coffee.

    Keep writing.

I, personally favour my coffee black as tar and strong enough to stand a spoon in, but too each their own. Ah, Blessed, Blessed Caffeine...

Unless Pinkie Pie wants some. then it's decaff. All the way.

Pro Tip: Don't start sentences with "and" if you can help it. It's in the rules; it says so in the book.

I'm a bit disappointed in Twilight's choice of brewing methods here. First off, the best coffee comes from fresh-ground beans. Pre-ground beans lose their flavor much more quickly, even when stored in a sealed bag or container. Then there's the brewing itself. Drip coffee is only decent at best, when made with a really expensive, high-end machine. The cheap machines are usually downright awful and burn the coffee.

For the connoisseur, there are two well-established methods for brewing coffee, with a third method having popped up more recently. There are of course a multitude of other processes out there that are rather extravagant and very expensive, but these three are affordable and still provide some of the best results:

Siphon Brew / Vac Pot was one of the earliest methods of brewing coffee, and is still one of the best. Many consider it to be the gold standard. However, the size of the brewer determines the number of cups made, and you cannot make any more or less than what it was designed for. Most models I've seen range from 3, 5, 8, or 12 cups. It also requires the user to pay a bit more attention.

French Press, another long-established method, typically comes in at a very close second. It's a bit less involved, but sediment getting into the coffee can sometimes be a bit of an issue.

Aeropress is the new kid on the block, and is somewhat similar to the French Press. Some folks are of the opinion that the resulting coffee is even better than the Siphon Brewing method.

One of the essential factors here is that the water is just below boiling before coming into contact with the grounds; this allows for maximum flavor extraction, and the reason for this is rooted in some fundamental principles in chemistry regarding molecular behavior and heat energy. This same rule, that water should be just below boiling, also applies to tea, and just about anything else that gets mixed with hot water; just a heads up for Rarity's fic.

That said, you admitted to not being a coffee drinker, so I'm not surprised you wouldn't have been aware of any of this. *dons hipster glasses*

    Um..machine coffe? Those sux.

The best way is still the good old one, where you just make it yourself. Only machine I use is to freshly grind the coffe beans (or I use the grinded mix from previous evening).
