That title made me think of this song:

That was sad and very realistic in its depiction of depression after a breakup.

Very well written, and moving.

I havent read yet, but it made me think this too.

As a story, I'd say it was probably well written. But if you delve down into it, its a Vinyl pity party. If Vinyl had cared as much as she claimed, all she would have had to do was say some of those nice things she says in her pity letter to Octavia once in a while during their relationship. Maybe Octavia finally got tired of not hearing anything and therefore not knowing where she stood in the relationship got worried and upset, very understandable. Vinyl tries to put everything on Octavia like she was supposed to be some great mind reader, well, that is not how strong relationships work. Its a dialog whereby all parties to the relationship express how they feel about one another over time as this makes the heart lighter and the smiles maintained. This story cannot tell you everything about their relationship and what might be wrong, but making assumptions about what the other will say in reaction to your comments are just pathetic and playing the blame game. As they say, when you "assume", it makes an ass out of you and me. Vinyl never gave Octavia a chance, she just said nothing, which to most people signifies that at minimum, you don't care enough to answer. Vinyl was perfectly capable of saying even a couple calming sentences to sooth Octavia's worried heart. There were a number of small things that could have been done to prevent a blow up like this from what information the story gives. I feel bad for Octavia, she obviously was very invested in this relationship that seems now to be history unless a lot of work is done. I feel bad for Vinyl cause she appears to be fine blaming everything on someone else, never any self-reflection, and I can only see history repeat itself again and again for her. Thanks very much for the story. I like these stories that force you to think about what's going on within them.
