Princess Luna's daughter, Dawn, has one simple wish for her birthday that is anything but simple to grant. She wants to see her father. Problem is, he was banished for 1,000 years and despite her insisting he is not a bad pony and that there is still good in him, she may never get the chance to find out. How can a mother who is also a demi-Goddess and Princess of Equestria bear the weight of refusing her child's deepest, most fervent wish, especially when she was the one who had to destroy him in the first place?

I mean I normally somehow avoid sad Sombra based storys, for reasons I don't know but this had keeped my interesst somehow, and if there is more I'm willing to read it.
I guess it more or less has to do with Luna X Sombra, I usually like to see two getting together, rather than to have an already existing pairing. However sometimes it is good too.

I seriously don't think I've ever written anything with a child this young before. Not having kids m'self, the biggest challenge is getting her actions and responses accurate for a child that age. If she acts a bit older, I can blame it on her alicorn pedigree, lol!

Thank you, Sanguinius. The end journey is the same, but there are many different paths that can be taken to get there and that's currently what the characters are arguing about in my head. I'm hoping they (and I) can come to a consensus before I write the next bits. Luckily, the next one and a half parts wrote themselves out before the arguing started

There is a lot of passion and anger in this dynamic I couldn't resist - Luna hating Celestia for ripping her and Sombra apart, Luna hating and blaming herself for Sombra's fall - and her own supposed weakness for falling in love with a mortal pony King. But, as we all know, the heart wants what the heart wants...
Damn it why can't I give this story extra like. This is getting too good. I'm sorry, it just I have always been a sucker for the ship. This ship will always be in my top five.
The constant reminiscing about Sombra has me wanting to go back and reread one of my own old lunbra stories.
