Reception probably would have enough horsesense to not send the letter and risk attracting the attention of the purple hellmare, but Blitzkrieg could believe that he does her a favor by sending the letter. Perhaps this can lead to a series of events culminating with it getting out that the Bearers of the Elements of Harmony cavalierly create sapient beings and then murder them. Given that the Mane 6 both saved Equestria multiple times and committed genocide, it could tear Equestria apart.

Yes, I would tell my boss that I cannot ever go to Ponyville ever because of personal private reasons. It is not like she is the only reporter.
If she's going to Ponyville, it's better to send the letter. I doubt she could last two hours without somepony recognizing her, and at least that way somepony would be prepared in advance.
