ehhhhhh im not sure if i entirely like where this is going....ill track it but i think you should have waited until you had a couple chapters before posting because I didn't get a good enough feel from just the one.

The problem with knowing that you're a character in a book is that there's really nothing you can do about it. If he believes otherwise Thompson is a fool. All you'd need to do is press delete a few times and he's go back to not knowing, which means that if he is allowed to continue down his path that he is still doing what you want him to.
Unless he is simply misunderstanding what it is that he is seeing. Perhaps I'm simply off my rocker, but if there are other worlds/Universes then it is quite possible that rather than actually creating anything we are simply recording the events that have unfolded (albeit imperfectly) rather than truly creating them which would make us Scribes rather than Authors.
