I don't have a problem with the Scootaloo-is-an-orphan theory, but I suspect that you're right and that the only reason her parents haven't shown up yet is that there's never been a reason for them to.  I always thought that if there's a canon orphan, it's probably Apple Bloom.

When i read the last last line i thougt that this was the end of the fic and made myself sad, but then i checked and made myself happy again when i saw it was incomplete.

Please please PLEASE continue this story! It's seriously the best 'CMC-gets-their-cutie-marks' story I've ever read!

Fun fact about chapter 3: The scene with Rarity was going to be the opening scene at first. Instead of her being disgusted, she would've felt really proud of herself for completing her order. Her first word would've been "beautiful," which would've carried over from the unfinished sentence at the end of chapter 2.

Now to begin figuring out just how I want chapter 4 to progress. This might take a while...

Most of the toys only have it on one sides, but you can find numerous shots from the show that show it on both. It's more of a lazy toymakers thing, or a holdover from some/one of the older series.
