Oh my.:applejackconfused:

This was far better than what I originally expected, kudos on this one shot.:raritywink:

All things considered, if the mane six are somewhere around 18-23, that would put spike anywhere between 15-18 depending on how old Twilight was when she hatched Spike.

While he is a baby dragon, he's had enough time to mature socially to the level of the society in which he was brought up.

Still a cute story though.

This was cute.

Wonderful little piece! It's so intimate, sweet, and even erotic without the burden of anything explicit! I wish I'd thought of writing something like this.

7169865 All social and biological factors considered, I place Rarity at about 18-19 in S6 and Spike at around 10-11 despite what Big Jim had to say recently regarding the special way in which Spike was hatched. Jim did say that he defers to Lauren whenever there might be a contradiction, and, iirc, Lauren has said she imagined Spike developmentally at 8 years old around the beginning of the series.

Oh well. I guess I can classify it as AU headcanon then

so she's jerking him under the skirt?

Nah, that would break the rules. He's jerking himself while she talks about love.

7170489 ahh but i remember now that she grabbed his claw so shes using his hand to stroke himself but shes moving the claw kinda like a roundabout handjob

7170586
I'd pictured that as being the other claw.
One claw under the skirt; one claw holding Rarity.

Hazel: Hester?
Hester: Get Bunny here?
Hazel: Yeah

This was great! We need more stories that visit Twilight's feelings should Spike and Rarity ever actually become a couple. The second act was a lot saucier than I expected, but it was still sweet without it becoming smutty. It implies your version of Rarity has been around the block or two with stallions if she's offering to let Spike jerk himself off while she woos him.

I also liked the little discussion about how dating a young dragon might affect Rarity's business. That's definitely something she would need to factor in as to whether carrying such a relationship out publicly would be in her best interests.

If you had asked me before the season premiere about whether Spike had hit puberty or not, I would have said no since I wouldn't expect dragons to mature like a human due to their long lifespans. (I put him at 16 as of Season 6, despite what Lauren said in the past - he doesn't act like a little kid anymore.) But after he sported those muscles in front of Starlight, I've had a change of heart. He's probably got some extra testosterone flowing through his veins to build up a body like that. But don't really feel strongly about it one way or another, so it was fine for him to be prepubescent here.

Congrats on being featured! snag.gy/zVnmcx.jpg

I also understood Rarity to be taking care of herself since she seems to orgasm about the time she says "I lo..." though there's no description of either character's movement/magic near their genitals, so you'd have to look carefully to infer as much.

7171105 Spike has really almost never acted like a little kid. His ambition gets the best of him sometimes, but he's always been a voice of reason, coming across as emotionally and mentally mature or more so than Twi, even if, socially, he's treated as younger and biologically he looks to be well under puberty next to the other dragons (while still seeming to be equally mature mentally).

The implication there is that Rarity is still uncomfortable saying those words, even though she knows they're true; and Spike understands.

7172149 What you explained was actually my first intuition. I think that's pretty clear, but I wanted to believe Rarity got hers too.

Oh... um. Not what I expected. I had thought stuff might be implied or something similar to that but I guess not.

Huh. I wasn't prepared for that, and it was honestly a little awkward to read... I was hoping for something along the lines of they share a Non-sexual Intimate moment all about love and closeness with maybe thing implied to happen.

Don't get me wrong, it's a sweet piece, just not what I expected.

If it does go off, it'll be an alarm loud enough to wake Ponyville."

I was half expecting them to wait until about midnight, then deliberately set it off. Then again at one, then two, and so on, until Twilight finally turned the spell of because everypony in town was ready to murder her.

I like the idea of Rarity and Spike sharing closeness without intimate contact. Many people assume that physical contact is the meat and potatoes of eroticism when there is a world before that. (Self Promo: I wrote a scene where Spike plays the piano for Rarity while she lays on top of it and she can feel ever note rock through her body, imagining it is his claws that run over her coat). So I really like the concept.
But there were two issues I had with the story:
First is Twilight. She came off as plain mean. It seemed that she was more concerend with her own hang-ups about the idea of relationships rather than the concern that this whole thing might mess up Spike or that they could blow up any future prospects of love by rushing it (which would be more valid than "I don't like it!"). And her putting such a spell on them that would alarm "all of Ponyville" is plain mean and humiliating for both, especially if other ponies think like her.
Second: I have this weird feeling that the two are only doing this now to spite Twilight and not because they feel ready for it. Its a nit-pick but it irks me a little.

7180464 Rarity is doing it to spite Twilight but both she and Spike very much share feelings for each other.

7305889 I never said that what they did was not because they care for each other very much. But it did leave a bit of a sour aftertaste if they make that step just because they want to spite someone. I guess I'm a bit too much of an idealist romantic sometimes

7309382 Sometimes adversity brings out the best in us, and sometimes it helps add even more spice. Really though-Twilight is either being a twit OR being totally reasonable in what she's doing. Either way I'm sure Rarity will figure out a way to nullify the effects of the spell either by annoying Twilight enough or figuring out a counter spell.

7309998 No... she IS a twit. No doubt about it. She puts no trust into two of her closest friends and instead instantly puts a spell on them. And not just one that will inform her, but one that calls them out in front of the entire town. Even if Spike is her ward (and often, he has to act more like she was his...) she clearly oversteps her boundaries here.

7310284 Has she really? Rarity is an adult pony. Spike is a baby dragon. Clearly from Twilight's reaction Equestria in this story shares the same sort of views regarding adults and children dating that our society does. I don't think her reaction is an unreasonable one given that context.

7310337 It feels wrong that she doesn't even consider having them promise or asking them to wait. The fact that her first reaction is "magic" kinda makes her look insanely prude for worrying that their fetlocks might touch or like a complete pervert for instantly jumping to the conclusion that they would end up humping within the hour. Neither of them are strangers, those are her two best friends and she has no trust for either of them.

7310353 What this all comes down to is that this was meant to be a bit of cheeky fun. You're taking it a bit too seriously.

"He is a dragon, yes, and we don't know much about how they mature. This could be how we find out," she offered. "I'd think you'd be interested in the discovery."

Rarity's rationalization is like tossing Spike off a building to see if dragons can grow wings under extreme stress. Though I suppose they understand themselves better than they could convey to Twilight, so it's not as if Rarity is molesting a child just to see if she'll do any damage; but that sure is what it sounds like to Twilight! Rarity should probably have given deep consideration to how best to convince the smartest pony she knows, because the first half of this story sounds like she's trying to justify pedophilia.

At the end of the day, though, I found it very enjoyable to see them all discussing their relationship in such great detail.

You know, even if Twilight said it was just between Rarity and Spike, that sounds like a spell that is not designed to be targeted, because it sounds like it was designed for, as the Bronies say, foal-fiddlers. So, let's go over the restrictions she imposed.

  1. No kissing. Welp, now neither Twilight, and depending on the time period Starlight, can kiss him goodnight.
  2. No contact of those places. Boy, this will be long. No mammograms from other ponies, no teatfeeding, no testicular exams from other ponies, etc
  3. Make a significant effort to hide those parts. Well, first, define significant effort. Second, no more doctor visits Rarity can never get examed *there*. She'd have to, if the time ever came, give birth in solitude or get c-sections. And the alarm could, theoretically, go off on Spike's end because, developing dragon with plenty of naked mares and fillies who have a habit of not having their tails properly positioned. And if all Spike needs to fulfill the clause is to have a skirt or kilt on, then hello Spike's inner pervert!

And besides that, isn't that spell restricted? Like "only use after criminal conviction"?

Bear in mind, this is only speculation on the actual nature of the spell. I very much could just be taking this too seriously.

Dear Princess Celestia,
Twilight is abusing magic again.

Wow this story is so very suggestive and I love every minute of it!

8881124
I think it's implied that the spell is specifically for contact between Rarity and Spike. So unless Spike is the one giving the mammograms, that shouldn't be a problem.

7316431
In retrospect, dragons do apparently grow wings under great stress. :trollestia:

This story is now under "new" management. :duck:

I really enjoyed this, feels like there could be so much more to this plot.
Also, wat u mean "new management?"
