So, is Surprise still Made Of Iron or is AJ going to come home to them having a wake for somepony she barely knows and doesn't like? Also, is Octavia going to be an annoying, stuck-up jerk all the way to Ponyville?

Surprise on the otherhoof, knows (knew?) Applejack very well.
Surprise nooooo!!!! I was just starting to half like her in a weird sorta way. From earlier Octavia I'm assuming she will be way too serious (though rightly so) then be a huge jerk all the way there till she brightens up to the group. Either way, I want the Doctor!

She do have a point, saying that you got about a month to live and then just leave get cured and not mention it is not really such a nice thing to do to someone.

It's not just the Vinyl/Octavia relationship that's doomed; I can readily see something bad happening to Caramel and Carrot Top. What that thing is is up to the author but it will be painful.
What is Emerald up to? She must have been working on something for a very long time, and just saying sorry but I don't need you anymore to a goddess... I think something big is about to go down and it will have something to do with whatever project she clearly must be working on.

Glad to hear that lol, it got a bit boring/annoying that after one disaster they get another one right away.
At the start of the chapter i was concerned Fluttershy would turn into a killer again, now im concerned she will turn into a sex crazes maniac, and that rarity gave her roofies in her drink too...
This a disconcerting twist! Drat Flootershu is setting herself up for disaster and it is fantastic. I'm glad to hear that it won't be a horrid mess every five seconds it was fun but ugh getting a tad much in a short time.

Well, I'd expected some level of nastiness to appear; I just didn't expect it to take the form of Octavia being an undercover police constable. That being said, the cliffhanger has pushed that worry aside because I need to know what the Machine Cult is and why it might explain the extreme antipathy to technology that defines Celestia.

I...what? What just happened? I get that Octavia might have been an undercover detective all along, but I don't really understand the sudden emotional rift that just exploded between her and Vinyl. Octavia seemed genuinely attached to Vinyl in the previous chapters/stories, and vice versa. Now they hate each other? What happened to all the emotional connection from before? Unless there's something I'm missing here, this sudden shift just doesn't seem that believable.
Anyhow, yay for Sergeant Lucky and Constable Crème being alive again XD.

Octavia has a pretty bad temper, and to be fair, so does Vinyl. Particularly when you hit where it hurts. Her alcoholism and prior drug use. Fights like this would not be uncommon for them, though the topic in question is hardly ever of this magnitude.

Machine Cult? Oh my Brotherhood reference (I think don't quote me on that) Montana no matte how neutral-ish he seems has been kinda helpful I guess, but I really don't care what caught my attention was Octavia calling Scratch a Drug addled whore. That is really hitting where it hurts so I can see one/both losing their temper there.
Wasn't Vinyl's excessive drug abuse, etc. part of the old world? Since Octavia's old-world memories haven't been restored, does that mean that old-world Vinyl and new world Vinyl effectively lived the same lives?

Vinyl Scratch is plagued with poor judgement and and even worse impulse control. They're not exactly the same, but similar enough that Vinyl has trouble sorting the difference between memories from the two worlds.
There seems to be another thing she's not good at: understanding the ponies around her. She has no real idea that it wasn't JUST a job for DI Auditore and doesn't honestly seem to care.

I don't care if surprise molested poor Twi or that she is a murderous psychopath with a tendency to butcher things with a chain knife, I am impressed with the helpfulness she is showing!
I actually didn't happen to notice the bit about Surprise mimicking the actions and emotions of the ponies around her. It makes a lot of sense now, and it's a pretty cool concept too.
Anyway, perhaps Surprise's reflection of Vinyl's personality would allow her to remember the pony she really is, before she gets even more pissed off. Despite not exactly having much of her own personality now that this has been explained to the readers, I still like Surprise, possibly as the best character in this fic. Awesome stuff.
