A dull sword can still be a rather dangerous weapon. Using it like a club. Especially when you fight against plated armor. You have to dent the armor to hinder the other indivitual using the hilt and the guard of the sword.
Or the character think that it is a dull sword? Sword don't cut when touch, they cut when the edges are aligned properly and said edge was dragged a bit or a lot depend on the cutting move.
And I call it now. The sword is the book.

7136076 - The character isn't all that knowledgeable about swords besides what they are used for, being a more of a game and anime kind of guy he basically thinks that it isn't really sharp enough to be used properly but might still be useful in other ways. Hence he kept it even though his head is still a bit scrambled, its also a bit of a reference to the vanilla swords from the game. As for the book... well, I guess we will have to find out won't we?

7136076 Well, a dull sword will not do too much used as a blunt weapon against plate armor (simply not enough weight at the point of impact), but you can still stab with it. But if you go mordhau instead......
7139591 Half-sword (use the guard and pommel of the sword like a club) is an actual sword fighting technique. It is used to dent plate armor and hook stuff. Also, from what the author said, the sword might actually be relatively sharp and just look dull to someone who has never held a sword before.

7139707 They can't. That's why they stabbed it between the plates(hence the need for precision using half swording). And against armored opponents they weren't really used anyways, that's what hammers and maces were for.

Well, at least he can still use the pointy bit of the sword. Even if dull, double sided swords have quite the stabbing potential.

No worries, I do plan on updating it eventually. Just had quite a massive slump with writing anything at all over the past who-knows-how-long, general stress and life stuff mostly and a job that insists on screwing up plans. I do have all my ideas and directions I've written down for it, just a huge lack of drive and creativity. So no worries, I'll keep trying every once in a while till it sticks again, I've had this kind of thing happen a lot with hobbies and I always get back to them in time.

Along with this I've been working on some other unrelated things that might eventually go up here too but they are going to take a far bit longer yet. So I guess we'll see what happens in the near future.

I hope get to finish this story and do generally alright. It's great you still find time to squeeze a few ideas out or possibly
