    psp7master's Stories (22)

I'd had everything I ever wanted - everything that money could buy. I knew the price of life and how to speculate in its shares. Up to the moment I met her. My world turned upside down. The pillars that had been holding my life for so long came crashing down. Did I walk away? No, although I should have done so. I stood in silence, interrupted only by her otherworldly music - I stood and watched those pillars fall. Forever.

/All music used in this story is intellectual property of the respective composers. All credit goes to them for creating such masterpieces that inspire people to write. And live.

He's the leader of the local oligarchy. Taking into consideration the fact that Equestria is still a half-feudalistic, half-capitalist country, it is quite possible for him to be called Master.

The events in this story are strangely similar to those in my life... I am a local classical pianist and composer, in relative seclusion. I suffer from depression (the doctor introduced me to ponies), and occasionally I head for the nearby abandoned concert hall to work on my compositions (I do have a Prelude in B Minor). I'm not as rich as the protagonist here, and certainly would be happy if I were more well known. In all, this is a very nice piece, the protagonist is a bit harsh at times, and I still have no idea why Octavia left him. I look forward to future developments.

Thank you for your feedback. Comments like this inspire me to write on.

If you ever like the story so much as to share a piece of your music to fit the atmosphere, please do so. I am an avid fan of classical music myself, though, to be honest, my soul will always cherish jazz the most.

Alas, I do not play the cello, and even if I were to record a song, it would be in audio only. I suggest Beethoven's Sonata No.14 in C# Minor 'Moonlight' Op.27, Chopin's Ballade No.4 in F Minor Op. 52, or if you have a good listening ear for classical music, Liszt's Sonata in B Minor.  It would be good if you revealed that the protagonist played the piano. And for good knowledge, no musical compilation/suite/symphony/sonate/work has a prelude, and then an overture. :derpytongue2:

I know. The point is, the story is to consist of several "musical works". The first one is "Prelude in Bm", then comes "Symphony in Em". The "Overture in Em" applies to the "Symphony in Em", not to the whole story.

I'd think of such superpony wealth to be a bit unrealistic, isn't it? Surely Celestia would still be tending to the city. Although I really feel that my life is taking a turn towards the opposite side of this story, living in relative poverty and all that. Hay, this inspires me to write a fic about my life!:twilightblush:

I really like the dark atmosphere of this story. There is a tone used that I find rare in novels, a tone that effectively captures the attention of the reader. There is one thing I'd like to know --- the tempo marking of the first movement? :pinkiecrazy:

As a political scientist, I assure you that such "superponies" are quite realistic, unfortunately...

And I would gladly read a fic about your life. I, for one, am putting some background information about myself in all of my characters - but with this one, it is more of a generalised character.

The first movement is Adagio, to be played at 72 BPM but then I'll step up the tempo, as well as try to slow down at some parts :twilightsheepish:
