Why does Star Swirl call Celestia Queen? At first, Twilight assumes a mistake, but the oddities only start there.

A missing book and a chaotic ally lead her to a discovery that could challenge everything she thought she knew about her former mentor.

Wow, I thought I didn't like Celestia before. Oh and AMAZING story. A sequal would be nice.

I don't get it....o.o.....

Well i wouldn't exactly call Celestia a monster for her actions i would not approve of them either. It's Really a moral grey area in my opinion except for Twilight.... when Discord is showing more ethics than you your defiantly in the wrong.

He raised the tip of his tail in defense. “I would never.”
Luna huffed.
Arching his long body upwards, Discord glided over her back, brushing up the feathers of her wings. “No, Luna, even I don’t have the heart for that. I am, however, glad to hear that you value so much what you and your sister have in each other. Eternity can be a long time if you’re all on your own. I would know.”

Twilight's actions would have possibly destroyed the kingdom and defiantly crushed Luna mind and soul. So while Brainwashing is a big nono i think it was the best outcome all things considered.

7009844 I think this story is saying that the Elements of Harmony made Luna a real thing, complete with fake memories, and the only reason Starswirl's diary wasn't affected was because of the preservation spell.

7010078 They Elements completed the spell yeah but Celestia started it. She wanted to bring her Tupla (tulpas are 'magic formations generated by a powerful concentration of thought." It is a materialized thought that has taken physical form and is usually regarded as synonymous to a thoughtform.) sister to life. An well she got her wish took her a thousand odd years so she wouldn't spend eternity alone but she did it.

7010159 Ah, ok then.

So, this is your submission for this year's contest, Leo? It's excellent! :pinkiehappy: I'll be posting a longer review on my blog soon, but this really is an interesting tale. I'd expect nothing less from the guy who gave us "Rocks Cannot Swim," which, as you know, was on my list of top picks from 2015.

One minor thing:

“Discord! What are thee doing in here?”

That's not quite right. "Thee" is an object pronoun. "Thou" would be better. The "in" seems clunky too. Honestly, you don't really have to have Luna speak in old-timey language, but if you do, I'd suggest "What art thou here?" or "Why dost thou come here?" or even "Why comest thou here?" Of course, you could modern her up a little bit with "Why have you come here?" or just go straight to "What are you doing here?"

Er, sorry, I know that's a lot for one line, but it's really the only jarring thing that stuck out to me. :twilightsheepish:

EDIT: Oh, and should you be so inclined, I have a story submission as well. Just if you're of a mind to.

7005897 Thank you, I'm glad you liked it. Unfortunately, I will most likely not write a sequel. It's not that there isn't room to explore the concept more, but I like this as is, with all the open questions it has.

7010159 Someone understands me! :pinkiehappy:

I mean, I don't believe that there has to be always one true interpretation, but that's what I had in mind at least. I did keep the story vague with regards to many things on purpose. I also wanted to leave it up to the readers to decide whether they think Celestia, Twilight, or Discord are ethically right or wrong.

7016925 Oh, I knew your name sounded familiar! I'm glad that you found your way back to me this year.

To be honest, it is a little embarassing to be caught with that line. I fixed it now. I usually know stuff like this or research it where I don't, but this time, the "thee" just slipped through unnoticed. Blame it on the deadline :trollestia:

7017176 Hey, just wanted to let you know that I reviewed this story here!

Also, my pal HapHazred read it on my recommendation, and his review can be found here.

7017176 Ah I see, I agree. Sometimes it's better to let the mind wonder than to just put it all out there.
