I would definitely read more. I'd love to see where you were going, though it seems generic. I know the game starts out in the same way, no matter the class you choose. That being said, I'd like to see where you take us as we journey with Twilight.
Did not really care for the story. Pretty much a carbon copy of the intro. What irks me a lot though when authors put game mechanics into a crossover story. We are reading a story, not playing a game, ditch the stuff needed to be a game. Chest loot just waiting in the middle of enemy territory? Classes and class based magic? Unlocking abilities? come on. At least you did not have the dreaded word 'level up'.
7015534 The honest truth, I wrote this when I was playing lots of Destiny, over imagination and shit. Anyway, I decided to write it like that, never planned on doing anything with it, then I did. Probably won't touch it again for a while, but I can understand where you are coming from.
Why did this get so wordy... I understand. This wasn't the most 'original' work I've ever done. I can see the appeal people have, and I understand your dislike for the way the story is set up.
There 30 words! Why did I start rambling?
The problem with it is that I had to copy the intro, as there is no other way to begin a story based around it, ideas that I had when I first started branched off from it, going into either lore or less 'Gamey' mechanics. The major problem is that unlike other games (Halo, Bioshock, Mass Effect) The true reason for how the Traveler works within the game is 'Space magic.' Were there a physical reasoning behind it other than magic, I wouldn't have needed to tie them together.
My this got ramble-y real fast... main point is it yes, I understand, The loot box in the middle of enemy territory... (It is their territory after all) why wouldn't it be there? They don't expect things to pop up, and...

If you think about it, some of the game based stuff would still make sense.
Classes and class based abilities for example. People tend to favor certain styles. Like say a muscular 6'5'' guy would be more inclined to wear heavy armor than say a Thinly built 5'8'' guy. Is it always that way? No. But more often than not, it is.
This is especially probable when dealing with ponies since each race is already specialized.
Even loot chests sort of make sense. It's Fallen territory right? They would need to store their stuff somewhere, especially since they've been shown to be scavengers.
Overall it really depends on what the author does with the characters. He/She could have them run through every mission in the game and still make it interesting depending on what the characters do, say, think, feel and interact while on those missions.
Well, now this is a very pleasant surprise. I log on, check my bookshelves, and find this gem has updated, and with a great story chapter to boot. If this is only the prologue, then I look forward to seeing where this will go. Already I'm intrigued by the direction. If only I could give this story more than just a like and a fave...
