The West. The Frontier. The Unknown.
Called by many names, this area of Equestria is dangerous and untamed, home to the most vile of all creation.
On the edge of civilization, a lonely little town sits atop Mare Mesa. Once a haven for scum and outlaws, the town has enjoyed five years of quiet ever since Valor strolled in one fateful day and became the town's Marshal. That quiet is shattered after a surpise attack by a ruthless gang of killers leaves the town in shambles, its mares and foals kidnapped by the outlaws. With the help of a mysterious stranger calling himself Tombstone, the Marshal sets off on a quest to rescue the kidnapped ponies and put an end to the crimes of the West's most dangerous criminals.

“It all began in the small town of Mare Mesa.”

Why do I get the impression that you're going to use that as the first sentence to the actual story? Not a bad start, though it'll be hard for you to attract peoples' attention to this story with that coverart and wall of text in the story's description.

6925184 Nope, but good guess:rainbowlaugh:
So, coverart a bad idea?

6925191 It's bland, not bad. Even big name writers can go unnoticed on a story when they use coverart like that. I edited a story called Dim Sun back when and it went unnoticed for the very same reasons.

6925195 I'll work on it. Though if truth be told, I'm not all that concerned about a bunch of people reading my stuff. It would be nice, and I'd like new people to read so that maybe I could meet some new people. But honestly, at this point, I'm writing mainly for my friends and followers.

6925205 Ah, alright. I get where you're coming from.

6925225 Yeah. I'm pretty laid back when it comes to whether my story is popular or not. Again, it'd be nice if it was, and so far its succeeded in helping me meet one new person:raritywink: But really, this is for fun. And if people enjoy it, all the better.

6925233 Not a bad attitude. Too many people around here cancel stories they don't think are popular enough. Then you have others that can't update them because they're worried about the popularity the story had gained. It's good to see someone avoiding that.

6925233 Also pretty sure I've talked to you once or twice back when I was Vengeful Spirit. Just saying. :rainbowlaugh:

6925253 I try. But I'll never cancel a story. I'll finish a story no matter how long it takes or how bad it is:rainbowlaugh:

6925266 WHAT?! I'm sorry. I feel bad for not remembering you:fluttercry:

6925284 Nah, it's fine. I talk to so many people that it's often hard to remember who I've talked to in the past.

That was a really solid start! I can't wait to see where you take this story in the future.

6926846 Really? Well thank you. I honestly wasn't expecting such a positive response:twilightblush:

I find it, pretty well awful that the Buffalo are considered the bad guys when it's their land. Plus I think that changelings, griffins, Minotaurs & diamond dogs might be there as it look like a place they might live in too.

6932859 You've got the right idea. The whole Buffalo-Indian parallel will be explored:raritywink:
Thanks for the fave by the way

6933368 Diamond Dog prospectors, Minotaur & Gryphon mercenaries, Changeling spies..... In my minds eye, for a story of this setting, each species has a niche in the world. Diamond Dog packs would work the mines, act as clerks and jewlers along ponies. Same with the Minotaur and Gryphons; although Minotaurs would more likely work the foundries, smithies, etc. Gryphons would work at outposts and be prominent mercenaries. Of course outlaws and bandits would make up all species. Dragons might be miners as well, while the larger ones would be menaces.

Nice beginning! You know your way around both characters and background. I wanna see where this leads :ajsmug:

7774424 Thanks! I hope to be updating this soon

7774859 I'll gladly read it then!

7774893 Now that break is coming, I'll finally be writing a bunch of stories again
