This story is great! I love the idea of two ancient beings, and how their lives intertwine. I'm not sure of the extent of Celestia's immortality though, I guess it's kind of like Jack Harkness.

Celestia as a friend of the Doctor makes sense, he's friends with a lot of importent people from history.

Dude's on a first-name basis with Churchill and most British queens, having two physical goddesses as friends isn't that far-fetched.

Plus, it means lots of focus around Celestia, in potentially wacky situations (who am I kidding? these are Mandatory with the Doc).

I'm totally following this story. And as I like to say:

"Everypony smiles, Celestia! Just this once! EVERYPONY SMILES!"

I'm loving this and I'm always up for a Doctor Whooves story.

"At the Doctor's prompting, Celestia climbed on top of the Doctor's back." two times the same name on a sentence can feel repetitive. You could change it for "the stallion" or "the brown-maned pony" or something like that, just to change it a little

Regardless of those above, I'm enjoying this so far. The idea is really cool, Celestia befriending a timelord. Because Trottingham didn't exist yet... I like it

I love the idea of this and wonder why it hasn't been done yet. I actually always thought that the Doctor and Luna first met on the moon.

I liked and favorited it, seems like it's going to be fantastic... Allonsy... Geronimo....

Never really got into Doctor Who, but I imagine it would be awesome for a lot of Whoovians if they got one of the Doctors to give a cameo voice appearance. Nice story by the way.

Whoo! Err, in the cheering sense, of course. I really like how natural this feels, the way you've converted Earth into Equus (or whatever their planet is called), and worked Celestia in almost like the Queen of England in the Eleventh's travels, just she's been around from the beginning.

Might I ask if there could be a quick crossover with the Earth Doctor, when he's on the other side of the crack, before Amy's wedding? And then he gets pulled away when she remembers him. Lots of the specials do crazy stuff along those lines....

I just realised. With the last scene in the last chapter, and this scene here, Wordsmith is a pony version of Sarah Jane Smith...Even the Smith part.

No. No he is not. He's the Brigadier. The Brig. Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart, the one and only. Made appearances during every Doctor's run from the second through the seventh (most predominantly with the third Doctor) and ran UNIT during the old days--which is why the Doctor tolerated it so much more in the new series than he would any other similar organization. It's his daughter that straightened the group out by the Eleventh's run.

'Sokay. We all start out as newbs at one point or another. I started on Christopher Eccleson myself, and have had to go back to get as read up on Doctor Who as I am myself.

This is a unique take on the crossover.

Here you've taken it into an absolute alternate universe idea, complete with a pony version the Time Lords, and assumed that the Doctor's entire timeline is more or less the same in that universe as the television serial.

It's the first time I've seen that done in the Ponyverse, as most writers follow the assumption that Equestria is a micro-verse, consisting only of Equestria's solar system, and the Doctor has been thrown into it.  Now, while that's a completely plausible way of doing the crossover given the Doctor's own forrays into parallel universe, to say the idea is rather cliche by this point is an understatement.

Oh, that does bring up in my mind a point of contention I have with many writers.  They assume Luna can move the stars.  That is never stated anywhere in the show canon.  She moves the moon, but that is all.  I believe they get that idea from the conjunction of 4 stars which freed Nightmare Moon in the first episode.  Yet it is never even implied that it was Luna's power moving them, only that 'the stars shall aid in her escape', which is open to interpretation in several ways, one including that the stars themselves have consciousness... though why they waited a thousands years in that case seems odd unless one postulates that they know the future and released her at just the right time to coincide with the emergence of the Bearers to set Luna free from evil.  That, then, elevates the stars to god status.

But enough of the wildly constrasting hypotheses.  Point is, it's quite valid to write Equestria as having as complete a universe as our own with Equestria merely one system out of trillions.

Trust me, if I had the ideas for more old Doctor chapters, I'd have written them. But, much like how I couldn't come up with a chapter for every episode of Season 1 to go into A Friend of the Night, I just couldn't think of anything to do with 6, 7, or 8. I mean, there's the obvious gag of Ace blowing a hole in the castle, but I couldn't come up with a good story to go with it. I figured having good coherent story chapters was more important than fitting in all the Doctors.

I have written this in such a way as to imply that the two have had more encounters than I've written down, so if I do get any more ideas, I may add them on.

The Doctor is volunteered to chaperone Cheerilee's class on there visit to the castle gardens. Everypony young and old doesn't quite know what to make of the quirky "historian". Discord breaks free, Equestria slowly slips into chaos and the children are moved to a safe location in the castle. Having finally gotten the children settled talking and playing (mostly) quietly, The Doctor slips out a book something to distract himself as he cannot leave these children vulnerable to Discord's influence while they were charged to his protection. Discord finishes his little maze game sends the Elements of Harmony defeated back towards Ponyville before deciding to visit in to thank the ponies who helped along his escape, even if it was mostly due to the Elements changing bearers. He appears in the room chuckling evilly reaches towards a filly to corrupt her when a voice pops up from behind him. "Discord you are an ancient and powerful being" he glances up for a moment from his book before returning to reading "nearly as old and in certain circumstances nearly as powerful as me. If you threaten those foals I will stop you, but with your power it would not be an easy fight." The Doctor nonchalantly turns a page as ponies, chaperones, guards and children all stare at him in confusion, and one Draconequess in mounting horror. "As a matter of fact to defeat you I would almost certainly have to put down my book" He finally looks Discord in the eyes "I might even lose my place." Discord screams "I'm to pretty to die!" and dives through a closed window that was not previously on the wall. The Doctor goes back to his book snorting "That young punk always was such a drama queen."
