Material Defender

A crossover/HiE writer whose own distractions with the internet ended up with him running into ponies. And now he's a fanfiction writer.

T

It's been a long time since the nations around Equestria have signed a treaty, promising peace and open borders, resulting in the creation of the Commonwealth. That very peace is maintained, but not without consequences: organized crime runs rampant in the background, and the municipal police forces and even the Equestrian Royal Guard are helpless to stop it, resulting in the creation of the Bounty Hunters Collective to take down unsavory crime elements away from the gaze of the public eye.

But within the veteran ranks of the bounty hunters, there is a group... a secretive and selective task force, created under the order of Princess Luna: a group of agents, peacekeepers sworn to protect the innocent and serve the just, are the last line of defense against the Commonwealth's ever-increasing crime problem.

These select operatives, the Judicators, act as the final judge on behalf of the Princess of the Night, bringing the most dangerous criminals to justice, at any cost, dead or alive. Among them, a trio of Judicators working on a basic investigation on behalf of the Princess herself soon find themselves embroiled in a massive underground plan that threatens the stability of the Commonwealth itself.

Highly intrigued. Amd what's with you and hidden paintings?

i set it on my read later.
it sounds really good from your description.
:pinkiehappy:

This sounds quite good. I am looking forward to reading more of this in the coming days and weeks.

This is an excellent read, so far. I approve.

917470 917787 Thank you! :twilightblush:

917506 I like paintings. Hidden paintings are cool.

917638 Hello again, Howitzer! Nice to know that you're reading this, too!

Anyway, this story was an idea I had in my head, and I thought it would be interesting to have a fiction where humans were native to the Equestrian world with a peculiar style of culture and speech that helps distinguish them. Oh, that, and bounty hunters. Yep. Also, this story will be taking over my story slot for Equestria: Global Offensive after I complete it.

Im interested in learnign more about this world. Otherwise great chapter :pinkiehappy:

918288 Of course I'm reading this. And I've actually been thinking of writing something similar to this, but you beat me to it. Not too surprising, though, considering the fact that I write sporadically at best.

It's like you're holding cupcakes in my face and saying "Ah-ah-ahhh, still gotta wait some more..." :fluttercry:
Quite a good concept, and played extremely well. I don't usually read AU, but this one caught my eye. Tracking, but you're not getting my thumb until I get a bit more background.

Coming next chapter: Pinkie gets wind of the town's new visitors.

awesome! good chapter is good

Keep up your awesome work! :pinkiehappy:

here's a stache on the house. :moustache:
*place house here*

Finally got around to reading this chapter. Love the lampshading on typical HiE arrivals. And the rest of the chapter as well.

I love the setup of this story, nice touch on how the humans aren't strangers to ponies. Can't wait to see where this is going!

1127387 Thanks, glad you like it! I was kind of hoping that it would have received more publicity, though; I'd gladly trade my other works' attention for some spotlight on this one, but I guess I can't have everything go my way. This is a treat for everyone who has this favorited, as there's going to be quite the story coming up.

Yes another great story DMDeck16
ur one great writer u get a moustache :moustache:

Hmm, no comments on this chapter yet? Well, don't mind if I do.

I'm glad to see this up and running again. It's pretty much the only fic with humans (so far that I've read) that I actually enjoy and feel has an amazing world built that includes a multitude of races. I definitely can't wait to see where this goes from here.

2082309 :twilightsheepish: Thank you, but given that this story doesn't have as much exposure compared to my other ones, it's understandable that the comments aren't all just flooding in. I'd gladly trade viewership of any of my more popular stories with this one.

I do have to ask what the current tech level of the Human's is. It seems fairly in line with Equestrian development, but we don't see much here other than the pistol.

2082526 In terms of parallels, the human technology level is comparable to the same as during the 1800s (most notably the budding southwestern United States around the same time), minus the gunpowder, so it is indeed in line with the Equestrians. The shape of their progression takes a different form given the presence of magic.

Finally had some time to get around to reading this update. Things are getting pretty interesting and I'm loving the world building that this story presents. I look forward to the descriptions of the criminal underground the most as it's something I've always thought should exist in Equestria but couldn't quite picture in my head. This seems to help with that greatly.

All in all I'm deeply enjoying this and await it's continuation eagerly.

2299825 Thanks for the comment! I was actually wondering if anybody even read the newest chapter. :twilightsheepish:

I should work on getting this story publicized, but I'm not really sure where to start, nor do I find it very becoming to advertise my fic.

"It's alright. If there's ever any idiot dumb enough to try to disturb us in our sleep, the first thing Redhorn will do is give 'em a good kick in the face, and I'll just draw my pistolbow and poke six holes in 'em."

If any idiot dumb enough wakes me up I will punch, kick, knee, and elbow-drop you in the ovaries or in the balls until you go to "sleep" yourself.
Don't fuck with my precious sleep.
Also

"No idea. I'll take the middle one, Anora takes the one in the back, and you take the one nearest the stairs?"

...Not sure if rascist....
Back of the bus......Zebrican equivalent...yeah......
Awkward

ANYWAY
Love the story, will await next update like a dog waiting for it's master thats only been gone for 5 minutes
