This is one of the few Post-Apocalyptic Equestria stories that are worth a read. The pacing is fast, but not rushed (something hard to do) and the writing is very good. What I liked most about this was the conflict; both the action conflict (with the golem) and Flood's inner conflict about Ditzy's death (although I think he moved on quite quickly for someone who was his only friend). I really can't understand how this goes on unnoticed when there are a lot of crappy fanfics with tons of followers... to each their own, I guess.

My only complaint with this (other than the delay of updates) is this:

The attack collided with the debris as it flew straight at its head, exploding into a dazzling explosion. Its head had exploded into dozens of pieces

On Chapter 2.

fucking tense shifts

It took quite a bit of waiting for that update. Not as long it took me for my main story, but still quite some time. Any reason for the delay? Or was it mostly apathy, procrastination, and a short attention span like mine was? If it is, don't be embarassed to admit it; like I said, I'm even worse.

equal parts loss of free time and motivation, with a tablespoon of lack of ideas
add milk, 2 eggs, and honey
bake at 700°F for 5 months

1292988 I've had that recipe before. It's not a very tasty one.
