It's well-written and the sentimental value is clear, I just don't see why they're together. I get that vastly different people can be in love, but there's a reason when that happens. What is it about Rarity that a sports crazy, rough-and-tumble, very dissimilar female like Rainbow loves about her? Likewise, what does a refined lady of class and unwavering dignity see in her polar opposite? Not being one of the people that just likes to see these two together for some inexplicable reason, this story felt gratuitous and devoid of substance for me and I couldn't enjoy reading it, even though I wanted to. Maybe you didn't write this with any other intent than to polish your shipping goggles and for your own enjoyment, but in the case that you did, I've shared my opinion and I can only hope that it doesn't offend.
Hmm, ShortSkirtsandExplosions is the only other author I've seen who insists on describing Dash's magenta-ish/dark pink eyes as "ruby". You're not another of his alts, are you?
