I'm going to read this regardless, having thoroughly enjoyed Unity, however, might I enquire as to why it ignores Twilicorn?

Can't resist:

Well this sound very interesting! So it begs the question which character did not get a book or gets two?

I've thought witch would be a good crossover. We will see..

6604042

I don't want to say yet, for the purpose of avoiding eventual spoilers, but it's not a random decision.

6604827

Awesome. I look forward to this; as I said, I really enjoyed Unity.

6604387

Oh, there's no doubling. The sixth book is Elyon's.

Is that elements of Zatch Bell I see in this, or is that just me?

6605066

Yes, though as we progress you'll see the workings of the books are kind of a mix of Zatch and Digimon.

6605422 Awesome sauce! You really do know how to add the zest of other series to your cross-overs.

6605422

Wait, Digimon?! I cannot wait to see how you do that.

OMG…that was AMAZING. I totally can't wait to read more

This is getting really interesting :rainbowkiss:

Well that was an interesting way to summon Pinkie. I would try it in real life, but if it works I do not want to deal with the after effects.

"Target identified: Element of Kindness. Threat Level: Not-Applicable."

I believe the word you want is 'circumstantial' :rainbowlaugh:

Rarity using the gem to reflect the energy attack was brilliant. Way to go Fashion Mare! And of course Pinkie would turn up by invoking her name :pinkiehappy:

6604071 I was thinking the same thing lol

Pinkie glowed brightly, and began to rapidly spin in place, looking like a miniature pink tornado. As she spun to a stop, the others could see that she was now dressed in an Adam West style Batman costume.

Pinkie, you're crossing the streams! Don't cross the streams! That's Superman, Batman and wonder woman right there...

And you told the parents!? What about the tension? The strained relationships? The drama! This... this is too much! I think I'm gonna faint!

I totally get why though. And it opens itself to all new kinds of drama!

So Equestria was shattered to save it, and now the shards are in another world, and chaos decided matching books to bearers would be the best way to ensure help. Makes sense in way, unfortunately. Now to see what the plan they don't have is in the next chapter.

I feel sorry for anybody who gets Trixie's, the CMC's, Lyra's, or Blueblood's. So the real fun part is how the adults are reacting to the whole situation. So how long till the government brings out the big guns like the A-10's?

You know, despite Hay Lin and Irma's misgivings, the soldiers were actually reacting in a very good way, so most likely there would have been a lot of questions rather than anything dangerous...though they'd have likely still ended up somewhere else 'for their own protection'. Also, they did show up on the news with the ponies...so someone in charge is going to be able to follow the breadcrumbs, which means that someone higher up is going to end up talking to strange alien ponies sooner or later.
That's not to say that there won't still be a veil over things as far as the public is concerned for some time. It would be far too easy for an even greater mass panic to start if the whole story just got blurted out. Right now the giants seem too powerful for the whole story to come out, and it's better for it to seem localized and contained.

I so can't wait for the next chapter :raritywink:

Love how the military is acting intelligently here. The next question is how fast the military adjust to the "magic ponies"? Wow that was kinda jerkish of the MiB's to do to the parents instead of simply explaining why. So the ponies are now safe but how will why handel the poking and prodding that they are about to receive?

Federal agents always have a bad rap to them. But when they show up to secure people into custody, it's not surprising that they do. Good to see that human tech can put up a fair fight to these things. It might not have the warpgates, but everyone's favourite flying cannon seemed to be quite good at tearing those things apart.

You know, as badass as 'Broken Wing Style' sounds, I can't help but feel it sends the wrong message.

The soldier let out a surprised yelp and stumbled back as Pinkie hopped to the roof line, loaded Gummy, and fired him and a trailing line up and over the scorpion, latching to a building on the far side. Then with an excited shout of "Cowabunga!!" she swung on the rope, down, down, and landed atop the tip of the creature's tail.

Now you've left DC all together!

Overhead, Pinkie whooped with joy as she swung from building to building Spider-man style on the Gummy-lines

And now you're bringing Marvel into this? Have you no shame!?

Thank you for portraying the soldiers as acting intelligently and being willing to listen to what is said. Far too often we military folks get portrayed as mindlessly obeying orders. And Sergeant Rivera is right, quarantine would be necessary to make sure there aren't any communicable diseases or dangerous bacteria that the ponies have carried from Equestria...but like the spook lady told the parents, they should be treated as guests since they're cooperating.
Speaking of the federal agents, they were acting rather like dicks....which unfortunately is pretty accurate. I dunno if knocking Officer Lair out with a rifle or pistol butt is what they'd do, but he'd definitely have been dropped with prejudice. The only part of that I had some issue with was how they handled Varghness. The cuffs and sedative were hardly necessary. He's a police officer, they could simply order him to cooperate (and he didn't have the papa wolf reaction Lair was dealing with to try to overcome).
Had to do some quick research on the thermobarics, since how you were describing things was far overkill for a typical 1000lb bomb. Five minutes would be easily enough to get clear of that. But you are pretty accurate, that type of bomb at that size they'd be looking at danger from the debris in an urban area for quite a distance.

Looking forward to where you take this. It will be interesting to see the reactions to the ponies' story and to their magics. Since it seems that they're likely to be cooperating with the military, if no one else is able to activate the ponies' books other than the one they're bonded to I imagine that those six girls are going to get some high intensity military training to try to give them another means of keeping safe.

How is the next chapter coming along?

It's actually finished, I just need to get it on the site and proofread everything.

Rainbow face-hooved. "Ahh nuts, I can see the newspaper headlines back home already: 'Rainbow Dash Blows First-Contact.'"

 I can see that happening. :pinkiecrazy:

"...Rainbow Dash?"
Rainbow looked back at the approaching giant, then gave the others a smirk and said "I know kung-fu."
Will and Taranee looked at each other, then back to the pegasus. "...Wot?"

:rainbowlaugh: That by itself was worth a thumbs up.
Very nice intro, good work.

Oh yeah! Keep 'em right there A.J.!" Rainbow cheered, "It's Hammer Time!"

:rainbowlaugh: Sorry, couldn't resist. :pinkiecrazy:
Very nice work, well done.

Irma just rolled her eyes. "Great. My pony is defective. Anyone wanna trade?"

:rainbowlaugh: She is not defective, she is Pinkie. :pinkiehappy:

Absolutely loved this so far, great work, keep it up! :pinkiehappy:

So we get a new enemy at the end. I wonder just what it is? Hopefully the next shard has something the mane 6 are looking for, like Twilights library or Sweet Apple Acres!

Worse. Lovely. Because why wouldn't they want worse?

The armour sounds epic and awesome though. Personally, I think hoofblades would be better than wingblades.

Interesting story you have here. I am rather enjoying it.

Best of luck

"Rrrright... Miss Pie, have you consumed a large amount of caffine or sugar today?"
Pinkie stopped vibrating long enough to think over the question. "Let's see... I've had three cups of triple expresso, five cans of Jolt, sixteen double chocolate cupcakes, two apple pies a'la mode, and half of a bundt cake... No more than usual, really..."

 That's our living sugar rush for you. :pinkiecrazy:

"There's no reason for the attitude Ma'am. We're just getting answers. And, I'm not convinced 'Duh' is appropriate anyway, after all, how did you know the robot was the, as you say, 'bad guy?"
"It was shooting at us?" Will snarked. "Again, duh."

Yeah you can't get more literal than that regarding being the Bad Guy.
Save for a dance and song number of course; :derpytongue2:

Awesome chapter, great work.

I am wondering how the next chapter is progressing? It has been awhile since you put out a new chapter for this story.

In an instant, Pinkie was in the man's face, gripping his collar, leaning in eye to eye. "I'm Batmane."

I see what you did there Pinkie

"But it has to make sense." Marilyn argued, "Even if we don't understand it yet. There has to be some underlying logic that we're not seeing."

DON'T BE A TWILIGHT!!!

Both of the unicorns winced visibly at the mere thought, and Rarity explained "It depends. If, Celestia forbid, a unicorn were to entirely lose her horn, it would eventually regrow... But she would be without magic until it was completely restored, and that can take over a year."

Tell this to tempest

Hoping to see an update sometime soon!^_^
