Angel is a young girl with a big imagination. When she finds herself feeling alone, she manages to find friendship in the form of a small plastic pony doll. However, when she is forced to lock her favorite toy in a magical cupboard, she suddenly has a chance to discover just what friendship really means.
Loosely based on the book The Indian in the Cupboard by Lynne Reid Banks.
Obviously, My Little Pony Characters belong to Hasbro.
The image is of one of the McDonald's Happy-meal toys, and is actually the same toy featured in the story. So... Thanks also to McDonald's for their cheap plastic Twilight Dolls! Without them, there would be no story :3

I've read the original Indian In The Cupboard book when I was in sixth grade, and even saw the movie in theaters when it came out.
I was seriously thinking of an Indian In the Cupboard Crossover, but one inwhich Apple Bloom and the Cutie Mark Crusaders get the magic cupboard along with Little Bear, Boon, and Tommy already in here with the key. Of course, I would have to explain how they got their from the human world.
Even earlier than that, I though up some IitC crossovers with other animes, like Love Hina and Tenchi Muyo, in which Little Bear, Boon, and Tommy & the cupboard & key get lost and end up in Japan, in the hands of someone like Sasami from Tenchi Muyo, or Kaolla Su or Shinobu from Love Hina.
Anyways, I'm glad to see The Indian In The Cupboard get a MLP:FIM crossover treatment, and glad see some taking a pony-on-Earth story with a twist for once. I had a similar idea for a "Little" ponies on Earth story about a year ago about the mane six jump dimensions and droping in the real world the size of the pony toys, and in the hands of a little girl and her older brony brother! XD.
Anywho, I was hoping the entire Mane Six would get brought to life by the magic cupboard, but having Twilight for a start would be great! I can't wait to see her reaction when she appears. Should be really cute!
Keep up the story, and update as soon as possible.

I won't lie... I really have no idea yet just where the story will go. I would like to keep with the current writing style, where Dialog is mostly implied unless it's important, but I have a feeling that's going to be difficult once Twilight shows up... But, we'll see!
That being said, if you want to do your own crossover of Indian in the Cupboard and Ponies, go right ahead! As far as similarities to the book/movie... well, I'm really just stealing the magic cupboard for my own purposes... I really doubt any of the characters from the books are going to show up in any way, shape, or form. In fact, the only reason I tagged this as a crossover is because otherwise I guarantee somepony would call me on it, otherwise
Also, I want to point out that, although Twilight (and, possibly, other ponies, as well) will feature prominently in this story, it is still going to be about Angelique and her struggles with family and friendship. Ponies are just going to become a big part of it
As far as updates... I may be a bit slow with those, since I tend to have to be in a very specific mood to write. But! I will update whenever possible!

If I do my own "Pony in the Cupboard," crossover, I'm going to try and follow the plot of the movie, with some changes.
For example, while the story will take place in New York City like in the film, the story will focus on a 9 year old girl and her older brother, who is a brony, and both watch the show.
Also, I'm thinking of having the Mane Six appear, but will start with either Twilight Sparkle, Applejack, or Rainbow Dash first, then the others. Maybe Fluttershy first. I'm not sure.
