CanvasWolfDoll

a guy who doesn't read fan fiction, but is more than happy to write them... for some reason...

Not bad. I'd prefer some more involvement into the creation of the wings process, but that is just personal preference.

By the way, I think you've created the Pony Species Identity Disorder.:scootangel:

i'm afraid that the lack of in depth wing creation verges from my lack of writing skill and actual knowledge of how to make such a crazy contraption.

as for PSID: it's always nice to be on the cutting edge of pony cliches. surprised it hasn't arisen before.
but i suppose that's my job as a pony fan fic writer: see things that, quite frankly, should've been done long ago, and doing it myself.

great, i loved it! looking forward to a second chapter? i hope.

I can see the potential of this story. So far so good! MOAR!

1: SPAM!
2: I have read quite a few fanfics involving Big Macintosh wanting wings etc... so your not entirely alone in this development.
3: I like how you deliberately left the ending in such a way that allows both the success and joy of the working clockwork wings, but also allowing for the possible failure and tragedy of many years wasted.

This story is terribly underrated.

You've created a good OC with a real goal. You've got Luna down well. And you have the start to an interesting story and world.

And it's funny!

Thank you for having written this chapter. You did well.

HE'S MARRIED??? :rainbowderp:
I'm guessing to Ditzy/Derpy (whichever name you prefer)

i purposely left it ambiguous, letting the reader decide.
so derpy maybe an option. sure, their realtionship in 'Adventure of the Ponyville Clockmaker' was mostly professional, anything could have happened between stories.

((personally, i lean towards octavia, but that lean is noncanon.))

198230You should continue the story of Sepia Tock.
While I like Doctor Whooves, it is nice to see a story that could actually happen in the show without copyright infringement of Doctor Who, plus, Sepia Tock is a really cool character.
Not to mention, your version Trixie is the ONLY one I actually like, all other versions just annoy me.

as nice as it is to be appreciated, my stance is the same as before:
it is very unlikely that i will write a sequel to sepia tock. it's a very popular fic, the only one of mine that managed to earna eqd post[1], and the positive comments make me feel warm and fuzzy[3]. however, i haven't the slightest inkling of where to go next with the story, and anything i try to expand with now [will just be/has been] me desperate flinging myself to try and get attention. everyone deserves better of me than that. i loved writing the character, and i desperate want to see him rise to higher prominence, but i have better things to do[4].

still, i hold exclusivity to the character, and encourage anyone wanting something to do to give him a run. it may turn out to be a horrible piece of fiction, but then you can learn. and learning is usually a good thing[5].

[1] to be fair, it slid in before the prereaders got more critical.[2]
[2] which is a good thing they did.
[3] like the victim of a carnivorous teddy bear. possibly of doom.
[4] i've wanted to make a career out of writing for over a decade now. time to accomplish something.
[5] one exception being, of course, learning the secret of monkey island. that'll just mess you up.

as for writing trixie, it's all about balancing the ham and the woobie.:trixieshiftright:
make her regretfully, sure, but make sure she also tries to shift the blame.
if all else fails, make her talk in the third person. it distracts readers while you sneak off with their wallets.

well wrote, well wrote. i liked every minute of it. too bad it wasnt longer with what happned afer he jumpoed from the roof. that would of been neat to read.

GAH i loved teh storie just hate the fact you left it as a cliff hanger, i wanna know if he flies or not

people keep saying that, i keep believing it would kill the spirit of the thing.
if it really bugs you, the version up on fanfiction.net includes a possible ending of 'eh' canon.
