An Eclipseverse story almost entirely written at the last minute for Chengar Qordath's Cloud Kicker shipfic contest.
Lt. Twilight Sparkle and weather manager Cloud Kicker have been dating for several months now. More than friends, but with a relationship complicated by Cloud's free-spirited promiscuity, the two of them have nevertheless managed to find an equilibrium that works for them both.
That equilibrium may end up toppling over, however, because Twilight harbors a desire that may just throw everything they know and hold dear about each other into question.
She wants to introduce Cloud to her parents.

This was a story about a weird, messy relationship between two very, very different people. And despite how complicated it feels to them, or how unlikely it seems that they'll stay together, it just works. Because no matter how freakishly loose Cloudkicker acts, or how genuinely insane Twilight Sparkle is, they respect, trust, and above all else, adore each other.
Before I read this story, I was worried about what it would mean for the Eclipseverse, and now that I've actually given it a chance, I'm ashamed to have ever doubted you. Their relationship is beautiful, and the series would be less without it. Thank you for another great story, and keep up the good work.
6383705 Well I'm very glad that you gave it a chance. Don't feel bad about doubting me, though. I certainly did.
But in a way, putting it off until right before the deadline worked in the story's favor because there was no way that I could give it a neat, tidy little ending, even if I wanted to.
And when it all comes down to it, this isn't that kind of story. It's not about getting Twilight's parents to approve of the relationship so much as it's just about sharing that aspect of her life with her family, warts and all. So thank you very much for enjoying it, and really getting what I was going for here.
