Sketcha-Holic

A goofy little miss that's here to write and draw to her heart's content. Her imagination doesn't know when to shut off.

E

Winter tends to be a little cold, even in the seaside town of Halterside. The beach sand was frozen, the ocean colder than normal, the lighthouse covered in frost and given a haunting glow at night, and the rest of the town would be under a blanket of snow, awaiting the day that they'd begin their Winter Wrap Up.

Naturally, ponies would gravitate toward warmth. A colt named Silver Shill knew that very well, and thus, he attempts to run a cocoa stand at the town's Hearth's Warming Festival, with the drinks made by his late father's special recipe. After all, it was a delicious mix, and his Pop had always loved to serve it.

He may be in a little over his head. Still, it's a tradition, and he's going to continue it. Maybe it would help him get a handle on a recent tragedy, or impress that pretty little cousin of his neighbor's.

I love your OCs they have heart and good characterization.

Aw. So far, it's adorable . . . and also very unusual. It's very much your writing--sweet, but with some grit underneath.

I was seriously wondering when I was reading that dinner-table argument if it was based (loosely) on one you had with your sisters.

I really liked the way you rendered that little encounter between SIlver and Coco, and the dinner-table argument, against the background of overwhelming loss, made tangible by the empty chair.

I've said things as awkward to girls I liked, when I was that young. :rainbowlaugh:

Poor Silver. Cuteness-induced logorrhea is a terrible affliction.

I'm loving this so far. Definitely looking forward to more.

Cannot wait to read this soon!

That is so cute. Silver shill and coco pommel are so cute together better than coco with cheese which angers me because those two have absolutely nothing in common besides cheese belongs with pinkie pie.

Aww silver is so shy that is so cute.

Great adorable awkward interaction between Silver and Coco. I like that it seems like Winter is not a total jerk, and seems to be warming up to Silver and his family. The responsible older siblings are also written well.

Finally getting to read this and it is amazing! I always loved that you wrote your stories so good! Also, Coco Shill, or Silver Pommel?

Coco is really sweet here. I'm curious what Shill will end up giving her.

What a great ending, Coco giving the hug as a fall-back present was so cute! I remember she gave an unspecified drink to Applejack and Rarity on their second visit to Manehatten, I'd like to believe it was Shill's cocoa.

Awww, this was really cute and very well written! I really enjoyed it. It's nice to see someone give Silver Shill some characterization, as well expand on Coco's sweetness.

Glad I finally finished this. Very cute all around, and a nice character arc for Silver Shill. Thank you for it.

Coco shook her head. "Oh, no, it doesn't agree with my stomach."

Trivia: Peppermint is the last thing that could harm your stomach. It has special properties that actually helps your stomach, digestive or otherwise. It’s saved my life three times since I started having stomach cramps due to digestion issues.

I did not know that.

Still, even if rare, peppermint allergies do exist.

Huh. And I didn't know that. :twilightblush: Guess you learn something new everyday. XD

I can't tell if 6-year-old Goldie is cute or annoying. :applejackunsure: Then again, kids at that age are good at being a mix of both.

Needs more CocoShill, but let's see what the next chapter's got.

Aww, how sweet. I hope Goldie gets better though.
