You should probably add a line mentioning how Aiden is aware that the lake's water is not filled with any sort of toxic chemicals like chlorine that would keep the water clear by killing any algae, etc. that tried to grow in it. Probably by noticing that the tree next to it is perfectly healthy and grass grows all the way up to the edge or something.

That said, if you can dispel the magic or fight back with some of your own without moving, feel free to set them on fire, empty the power of a storm cloud into them, or send an ice spike through their skull. Or all three. Or whatever kind of magic you use. Also, if you are 100% immune to holding spells, just laugh in their face when their telekinesis doesn't work, and then either stab them through the skull or blow their brains out with your firearm of choice.

Hmm, this is an interesting take. Somewhat reminscent of Fallout as well. Something you may want to consider is sticking to one tense. You tend to jump between past and present often, and it can get confusing. I do like the way you're setting up these events to coincide with the canon in the show, it's a nice little feature. I'm curious where you will take this.

Well at the beginning I was like "GGAAAHHHHHHH"

At the middle I was like "GGGGAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!"

While I am enjoying this story greatly, there is one rather large gripe I have with it:

Stop switching between past and present tense in the middle of a paragraph! It really is most terribly annoying.

Personally, I really like how you're telling the story through flashbacks of his world. It's unique and very interesting, and I'm looking forward to more of it.

The flashbacks are a form of PTSD and anything can trigger it.  So far only he has stalled out and just stared but anytime later he could start screaming and attacking something without realizing it.  I know people that have it and have learned that you can gain even if not in a combat situation (Just being in a place that doesn't get along with you in some ways can cause it [I should know]).  Wonder when Celestia will look into his mind while he is sleeping (If not her then Luna).

oh come Tia 2 decades with 2 rulers is a long enough time to be taught how to rule a country

Hmmm, am I the only one wondering why the weapons Medieval Equestria developed and the weapons Medieval Earth developed are the exact same? Considering how impossible it would be for anypony that is not a unicorn to wield them. Well, they could hold the melee weapons in their mouths but I don't believe swinging a heavy metallic object using only the roots of your teeth to hold on would be such a good idea, in the long run for dental purposes, or for the short run when they jerk out and your weapons flies uselessly away from you.

Flank-fluster aside, I have a feeling Aidan is going to be acquiring modern weapons out of Taotras, and probably around that time or shortly before the antagonist will be revealed. Hopefully.

He's trained in almost all weapons, probably, like Special Forces in most advanced countries. Can't think of a specific group, but I recall there being a Russian or American (can't remember) squad that was trained in the use of all weapons.
