There is an ending to every great story. For Spike, Shining Armor's story will never end. No matter what Twilight, Cadence, or the doctors say.

Spike isn't ready for that story to end. Not yet. There is one more thing he needs to add... if he can find the words to do so.

Perfect. Simply heart-warming, heart-breaking, adorable, touching... Badsy, you're amazing. :ajsmug:

You did a great job of picturing what Shining Armor and Spike's relationship would be like. If Spike really did spend all his life with Twilight, then he must have some kind of relationship with her BBBFF. It makes sense that Spike would look up to Shining as a male role model. The interactions in this story were just pitch perfect.

Well, I certainly didn't plan on going on a feel trip today.

This is going to break my heart and cause me to cry isn't it

(One reading later)

Yep...not even a few paragraphs in, the whole brother thing killed me. Darn it, why are you so good!!!

Íslendingur?

6089074 I bucking love you for this comission.

6089079 And I bucking love you for writing it. My feels have been shed.

pssst.... I understood the title.

Does that mean i get a prize? ekki? allt í lagi þá...:pinkiesad2:

But not hepatitis

That's a liver disease, not a blood disease. All biological and medical terminology with the prefix hepat- in it pertains to the liver: hepatocytes (liver cells), hepatocarcinoma (liver cancer).

I'm guessing it's viral since he's worried about passing it on. The only form known to have a genetic component, autoimmune hepatitis, is rare, most often occurs in females, and is rarely ever passed from parent to child.

Anyway, poor Shining. The writer was very cruel to him. Writers are the worst gods. :raritywink:

I did not need these sad feelings. But I'm having them anyway.

Also, Icelandic Crystal Empire, this should have been my headcanon ages ago.

6089275
Líklega ekki, gaman að sjá, samt.

I don't know who am crying more for Shining or Spike. My tears for Spike are mostly the not getting bigger thing, I was really hoping that the promise ore something would be like a cute mark and magic him bigger.

1.

Playing with dolls, baking, or being small does not and will not change that. [i[Ever.”

Italics error.

2. Spike x Sweetiebelle?! :raritystarry:

3. That ending. :fluttercry:

Nice to have helped with a commission story :D
Hope you get on your feet soon

6089480 You know, working in the medical field, I should have caught that while editing...

Good story but a bit too feel-sy for me, and it seems kinda forced.I got the impression this story is trying to pull at the heartstrings a little to aggressively.

Spike is made too self-conscious and insecure and Shining is basically the perfect being, aside from his tragic illness of course.

I expected a life exchange to happen

But, as a older brother, this is what I have hoped to achieved with my own sibling. Memories, lessons, morals, and probably most important of all, understanding.

Thanks for the best snap shot I've read so farderpicdn.net/img/view/2014/6/19/657229__safe_shipping_straight_spike_princess+cadance_shining+armor_hub+logo_artist-colon-dm29_hundreds+of+users+filter+this+tag_all+new.png into a spike and shining brother ship.

And once more does the One Known As Bad Seed show us why she's a writing goddess.

6091637 Det verkar som att han gör det.

This story was amazing. The feels, though.

It seemed to attract a hater, though -- almost every comment is downvoted.

6090270

I've fixed both these issues, thanks guys.

Also, yes, I'm a cruel person, and Spike x Sweetie Belle here. :trollestia:

6089275

Ekki!

6089460

Nei, því miður! En flott að þú skilið það.

6091637
6092094

Nei, bara Google Translate. :pinkiehappy:

6092740 Oh, me neither. I typed in swedish instead.

Wonderful. Simply wonderful. I applaud you for such a fine story.

Oceans of liquid pride were spilled that day.

And the next...

And the next.

I had a feeling I'd start the waterworks after reading this, and I sure did. How the prose and dialogue flowed throughout the story added a lot to the story's emotions, as did the characterization of Spike and Shining Armor and how the pair interacted in the more dramatic scenes. Excellent work as always, Bad.

6090516 You work in the medical field?

AND YOU DIDN'T NOTICE?!?!??!

*Alondro revokes your license at once... and gives it to Pinkie Pie... things go from bad to worse...* :pinkiecrazy:

6093856 In my defense, I'm medical IT, not clinical.

This hit me particularly hard, as my grandmother has degraded to about Shining's capabilities here in the past week. She officially begins hospice today, was put on morphine yesterday. She gets exhausted by breathing... :fluttercry:

Silver lining, though, this week is our family reunion, and she gets to see her brother, her son and daughters, her niece, and several of her grandchildren. Almost everybody is here to see her now, even if we may not see her again.

6094178

I'm sorry to hear about your grandmother. *hugs*

6094312
Hey, 44 days until she's 90. She's had a full life, her husband is already long gone, and she gets to see her family this week. Your description of Shining just reminded me a lot of her.

6094422

Ah, I see. Well, I'm glad my depiction of Shining reminded you of her in a good way.

6094178
I know the feeling, to an extent. In late May, not even a month ago now, I had to go to my grandmother's funeral. She was the only grandparent I ever knew. She lived about three hundred miles away from me. I never got a good chance to talk to her, I can't really even remember her voice. Do you know the saddest part for me? My little cousin, about five years old, asked to touch her. It hit me, more so because I knew it was coming, when he said "Why is she cold?"

I blame Marlboro for my loss.

Tugging on my heartstrings, playing a mournful tune...
Nicely done

-

the Reaper waiting in the corner with an empty ribcage and a bucket of popcorn.

Okay, I'm sorry, that cracked me up...
Really, I feel awful for laughing...

Canonically, I don't think Spike is close to SA. He has probably left for the military academy already when Spike started accumulating childhood memories. Or TS and Spike had already began living in the palace as royal proteges.
Also, Twilight is an unreliable narrator regarding her BBBFF status with SA. I don't think SA is truly "close" to TS at all, though he is a good guy in general and does love her as family.

That said, this is still a good story.

Oh Jeez Louise...
It's not tears! It's liquid... liquid pride at the fact that someone can write such an amazing piece of art.

According to Shining, whose most of his life was centered around military exceptionalism and honor, life is really all about love.....

Sure, I'll buy that.

And on another note, serving as the butt of jokes, living in constant fear of rejection and ridicule, and being the proverbial pet that bakes and cleans for his alicorn maester does not particularly strike me as a masculine lifestyle.

That's what it means to be a slave.

6094614 Why? I read the story and I can meh if I want to.

I don't cry while reading, but this made tear up.

6094147
I don't understand why this has so many downvotes.

"Meh" is a completely valid opinion.

There is only one word that can describe this story...beautiful.

6096510 Some people just can't accept that not everybody loves the same crap as they do.

6094497

I'm sorry for your loss. I lost both of my maternal grandparents to tobacco as well.

6097137
Yeah. She was the only grandparent of mine that I ever met, too.
