A long time ago, I created with abandon. I thought those times were behind me... It's time to pick up the pen once more...

This story is a sequel to Six Best Friends Play Diplomacy

There is nothing more relaxing than spending a quiet evening with your friends playing a fun game. Or at least it should be, if you're smart enough to pick the right game! After a disastrous first try, the mane 6 are determined to give game night another go. And this time, they are going to remember that it is just a game and focus on just having fun.

But that's boring. So let's see what it's like from the game's point of view!

This is a sequel to Six Best Friends Play Diplomacy, but you do not need to read that story to enjoy this one. It only really comes up in the first chapter.

who will be the first to like find out next time on...

*likes* to late I win..

Monopoly do monopoly

That bit about the shriek, it really reminded me of Screamers. *shudders*:fluttershyouch:

Betrayal doesn't really have a close equivalent that I can think off, but it's reasonably easy to learn and very, very fun.

Actually, this reminds me more of "Castle Mane-ia" than anything. I shall be watching...

Thanks! That's the vibe I was trying for. Super creepy haunted house trying to mess with each of them. I hope you stick around!

Are you running one of the actual in-game haunts and if so how did you pick it?
I won't ask which one since that might spoil who ends up being the traitor.

6027503
I am attempting to run this as close to a real game as I can. So while I might take some liberties, I am going to go with one of the haunts from the game. I'm going to keep rolling the dice as the story goes on and see which haunt is randomly generated. If for some reason that haunt isn't going to work story-wise, I do have one I plan to shoehorn in instead. No other details right now, though. I don't want to give anything away! :raritywink:

Can you tell us who picked which character and what stats they have

Ah, no, this is Castlevania: The Board Game. :rainbowlaugh:
Hm, now I kind of want to look the actual game up...

6052726
Oh, you really should. I personally believe it's one of the best board games on the market! I've had my copy for several years now and I still haven't seen every twist and turn of it!

Rarity would go for the high-end of the board, the yellows, greens, and blues, as she has linked expensive taste with wealth, buying herself into a position without ability to upgrade. However, she'd also be well-practiced at mortgage-management, adopting the rolling-debt strategy to live beyond her means without cutting her profits.
Twilight would trade aggressively for the Orange properties, noting that they're the likeliest monopoly to turn a profit, being the 6,8, and 9 from Jail.
Applejack would go for the light-blue monopoly, knowing a bargain when she sees one, and possibly go for the railroads as well, for similar reason.
Pinkie Pie would buy everything that comes her way, and be the most prolific trader in the group, though always trading into an advantage, even if its a pattern no-one else sees. However, her goal is to get one of everything.
Fluttershy is the likeliest to trade into completion of others' monopolies, but they'll be more forgiving to her. Everyone but Twilight is likely to trade her for "Free Ride" promises.
Rainbow Dash is going to buy everything she can, and has a Berzerker goal: No one gets a monopoly if she can help it. She'll have one of everything; a roost on every side.

I really want to see someone tackle Twilight Imperium; it's as convoluted as Diplomacy, but has a Twilight pun right in its name!

Hehehehe... this will end in fire.

6338222 And madness o.o lots of madness. It's never a good sign when a game has a 'sanity' stat :pinkiecrazy:

OTher games...hhm... how about King of Tokyo so we can have Fluttershy playing the bunny in a giant mech suit? :p

6 is a good number for a game of BANG! though would they be flinging pies instead of bullets?

I'm a big fan of Lords of Waterdeep too, but not sure how that would translate in this story...

Funny you should comment... one of the stories you listed here is one I'm toying with for a later chapter. However, I'm not going to tell you which one! :rainbowwild:

An axe that will never actually be used...

Risk or Sorry . Those are fun but not much of a game to write story on

And the Spike tag is there because...?

I just found this recently and I just had to read it. I'm a fan of Betrayal at the House on the Hill... but who is the betrayer?

Is it Rarity? I feel like the 'drip' thing was a hint that she was going insane.

Glad to see that you've started writing this again :pinkiehappy:

Glad to see this part ending :D

Surely nothing terrible will ever happen to six best friend adventurers walking into a dungeon kingdom...

8530195
Key to the Kingdom. It was mentioned in the previous chapter, when the girls set up the game to play.

Nice chapter...

whistling at what lay within. Twilight flew down and caught a glimpse of something long and black, but the farmer quickly stuffed it into a sack that also came from the chest.

Oh my... :trollestia:

Rarity just wants a normal bath in one of this weird adventures...

For those unfamiliar with this game, what are the rules of the game other than finding the betrayer? And what haunt's have already happened?

Nice atmosphere, was well done

(Ah, quite enjoyable! Ponies, and characters from quite a lot of fictions actually, playing games is one of my favorite activities to observe. I'll look forward to whenever this may possibly update at some future point!)

I remember that game
its one of my all time fave

And thus, the betrayal starts...
