The Based God

T

The Equestrian Northwest is a strange place. Sixty miles northeast of Vanhoover, two towns lay in almost complete isolation. Cascade Hills is a logging town populated primarily by Earth Ponies. Hornloft is a cult colony dedicated to getting away from Equestrian society, populated by unicorns exclusively.

Both of these towns do not like outsiders.

Thirty-three humans find themselves in the midst of these two towns. Outnumbered and limited by a language barrier, they become involved in several cultural misunderstandings, culminating in an incident that leaves at least one pony dead. All of a sudden, it seems like all of Equestria is after them as they make the trek to the southeast in search of safer territory. Some of them have not given up hope on returning home, but they have only one main goal at the moment: get out of Equestria.

With a country to cross, and a military, six national heroes, and a diarchy after them, it may not be so easy. They may seem doomed, but the humans have yet to play their own trump card.

but the humans have yet to play their own trump card.

They are human, being hunted and are being backed into a corner

6011326 So what do they do? They build guns and nukes. Time to fuck shit up in the name of Humanity.

6011780 And my heart bleeds for those that have been doing the huntin.... oh wait, those are tears! And it's laughing it's ass off just thinking of the devastation that is inbound on happy pony-only land

The young unicorn with a cobalt colt and a curly black mane cheered and danced as he entered the kitchen.

Oh no.

"I got it! I got in!" he shouted to no one in particular. He slammed his cabin's door shut behind him, placing the fancy letter with the golden ink on the counter.

Please don't.

"Granddad! It's here! My letter from Canterlot University!"

....... Well. Death flag has been set.

We have to make sure it's sanitary. Don't lose your way, keep track of the sun and make sure you're able to retrace your steps.

Don't lose your way

"Hey, fuck off man! We're finally back to civilization! This trip has been just awful for me and Natalie, and now you're telling us we can't even go get cleaned up?" Candice, one of the female college students, joined the conversation.

Albert rolled his eyes. Off all the college kids, only Tim and Natalie were really nice, pleasant individuals. Richie was pretty much who Steven Louverture would be three or four years removed, yet with a fair bit more anger and bit more smarts. Natalie was a pampered princess who was loathe to deal with any kind of hardship.

One Natalie should probably be Candice instead.

Very good, I know it's all going to go pear shaped based on the story description but I still really want to see how it pans out.

Can we just kill off Richie already? Please?

Every group needs an asshole. And that asshole is Richie. Kill him please.

That's the idea. The asshole part, not the killing part. Well, maybe. I don't like to spoil things, but it should be obvious from the tags and description that there will be a few character deaths. I haven't decided yet, but it wouldn't be too surprising if I killed off Richie.

Gotta be pants on head retarded to walk into the middle of a town of aliens, let alone present yourself within melee distance. But then I guess thinking things through would be more difficult in the thick of it.

It would probably go better if you presented yourself at a distance. Simply stand well outside the town and wait to be noticed/build a fire. Let them approach you after having a good long look. It has the added advantage of giving a good head start should the pitchforks come out.

Yesterday morning, Albert here had an accident with his abilities.

Don't you mean Martin here?

How can the ponys not recognize inteligence? Are they just sheltered or are they really that clueless?

6167819 The way the humans also pick up on this makes me think this isn't just stupidity on their part, but you never know, they really could just be really stupid ponies, haha. The fact that Francis had fashioned some kind of spear indicates a basic intelligence at the very least but it clearly wasn't recognised.

Anyway I'm surprised this story hasn't had more attention, not a lot has gone on yet in the grand scheme of things but it's pretty well written and a nice change of pace from most HiE stories. Look forward to seeing what goes on next.

-> Small, beady eyes

-> Takes up half the face

I don't get why the vast majority of fimfic authors seem to think Pony eyes are so much bigger than Human eyes. They aren't. Even real Horse eyes aren't that big.

I've gotta say that this story has me hooked! Great job! The only thing I'm wondering about is if the group will splinter or if the threat from both towns will keep them together.

if neither of these towns like outsiders, especially with one being a cult, why would they attempt to contact any representative of the Equestrian state to deal with this problem. That would just bring in more outsiders.

The eyes of a pony from the show are huge.
Human eyes are small in comparison.
And Equestria girls is not a good example of humans.
Because the humans in this story are not from EG.

The eyes of humans in any cartoon are huge.
The eyes of ponies in the show are disproportionately larger than they aught to be, just like human eyes.
Of course Equestria Girls are a bad example of humans. The Mane 6 are also a bad example of ponies.

33 humans?
With those numbers
Seems that death is around the corner for some of them

this is actually really good, and the only HIE fic where a group of people are dropped into equestria and they aren't modern soldiers somehow becoming the saviors of world, a Roman legion dicking around, spacemarines that often than not are ripoff from halo or mass effect, or a crossover, but just ordinary people, sure one is a bit weird but overall they are just a bunch of average Joe's in a very different place than what used to, and thats exactly the question that the "Human In Equestria" scenario brings up "how would a ordinary person react to Equestria" and there is thousands of fanfics on this site that on the individual level, and sure sometimes they have friend or a family member but thats just two or three people at must, or atleast in must i have found, but thats a small group of friends, where they usually agree on all the choices they make or a of them pipes upp about a problem with the choice and creates the conflict for the day.

with little colony size is a bit more compelling and interesting, especially if they have children, because then you have more people who can disagree on something, which means that the conflicts are little more severe because the leader(s) must act quickly to remedy before arguments become to heated, also you can be a bit more liberal with deaths in the group but not to much, and when you have more of the MC's species around, it's usually more believeble that they survive when the xenophobic ponies turn against them.

also more characters and interaction between them is just really nice.

overall, this is a good story so far, you're certainly ticking of all my boxes, and i hope you're not dead

When talking about a group of random people and not a group of friends the humans are automaticly screwed because it is not a matter of if but when violence errupts and they end up killing a pony and when this happens they have essentially a demi-god at their throats, death is innevitable, no ifs ands or buts they will die. That is why you dont see a bunch of stories with a bunch of randoms in equestria it INEVITABLY leads to their death, if one human messes up and kills a pony they can be rehabilitated and atone, but if there are multible people inside equestria and one kills a pony it might as well be an act of war and with the potential to be up against not one not two or even three but four demi-gods humans are dead even if they are magic resistant themselves there are plenty ways a powerful magic user can kill not only one person but multiple people without using magic directly on them and three out of the four are smart enough to know a way just off the top of their head. The way Celestia acts she would probably end up dealing with this threat herself and im willing to bet she knows a few tricks to kill without using magic directly and if not then Luna damn well knows some. You also have to remember that all ponies are racist and paranoid on the basic level because (even moreso than us humans) they haven't left behind their primal instincts completely, it becomes worse when you deal with a town that is only one race of pony AND a cult, with this setup you are just begging for the humans to immediately die the only thing worse would be if you put them in dragon lands heck even griffins would be respectful of a fellow predator. The ponys from either town would take one look at a human (or even a minotaur for that matter) and say "I don't want anything to do with that go away or we will kill you." It would be like rolling up on an extremist nutjobs compound as a grey skinned big eyed alien and yelling at him in klingon, ur gonna die and you should expect to die. So you would need all the luck in the world or a HUGE amount of whatifs or maybe even both for even a single human to survive this scenario. Ponies may be non-confrontational but when dealing with isolationists they are more likely to commit acts of violence tword anything they don't consider "us" and because ponies already have a strong sense of "us" and "them" especially when dealing with the element bearers (besides twilight funnily enough) it would make anyone who comes along (maybe even the princesses) an unwelcome pest. But of corse this is just my conjecture about this idea I have not read any story with this as a premise because this is how I would expect it to go just like I wouldn't read a story about a person rolling up to an extremist nutjobs compound as a grey skinned alien and yell at them in klingon it is a foregone conclusion unless you roll a 20 on ur bullshittery save they dead end of story and the ponies from the towns would say good riddance, anyone else will say its a regrettable outcome but it had to be done.

Is this AWESOME story going to continue? :fluttercry:
