Spike reminisces on the most horrifying moment of his life, and how it turned out the be the start of the best thing in his life. Oh, and Spike becomes a bazillionaire. You heard right, he earns so much money they have to make a made up number a reality just to calculate his Gross Annual Income.

For some reason I couldn't get a full version to show through, even when I resized it to a smaller version.

Special thanks in the A/N for the Inspiration behind this fic.

Or in Spike's case pure diamond.

Giving this a like for the ideas presented.
Where did you get the arcanothermic ideas?

I wonder if Spike's feces come out geodes then what come one when he either pees or climax?

Well I never bought into Ectothermic [uses the enviroment to regulate metabolism, and biological functions] since if he was. Then there's no way he'd be active in the winter epsiodes, and him falling into the frozen pond in Winter Wrap Up would've killed the poor guy. But Mesothermic [produces their own heat, but is augmented by their surroundings. Like with dinosaurs, great whites, leatherback turtles, and echidnas] while sounding accurate, just didn't feel dragon-y. [edit: After all it's a magical world filled with magical talking ponies, and dragons that spit magic fire.]

That got me thinking. Spike hatched because Twilight poured an ungodly amount of magic into his egg. Dragons sense, and are drawn to magical things (captives / princesses, items, gems, places, etc.) which they use not only as a power source, but as a source of food and growth. That and not only is their fire magical, but fire being one of the most potent catylists for magic is one of the things they bathe in, rest around, and use for recreation. [Headcanon: I think dragons use the ambient magic in fire / heat to boost and augment their magic consumption through their scales. As well as aid in digestion (which is why fire rubies are so coveted).]

So I invented the word Arcanathermic for not only dragons but any creature that uses ambient, eaten, or directed [which for dragons is a part of why they are so magically resilient. Since small amounts get absorbed into them.] to regulate their biological processes, and development. That way, it doesn't really matter what the surrounding temp / environment is. As long as they have a source of arcane energy to keep them charged up. Oddly enough, Tirek [who in G1 transformed ponies into dragons] would fit this form as well (since we see how weak and sickly he looks if he hasn't absorbed arcane energy).

I dont know wither to walk away or laugh

So dragons crave fire rubies because eating one temporarily relieves the symptoms of dra-chronic irritable bowel syndrome?

Got it!

Finally got around to reading it, and boy was I impressed!

High quality grammar, funny and intriguing story, and of course some brilliant head canon!

The only problem I had was that the story felt quite rushed, mainly at the beginning and ending.

I am very proud for inspiring you to write this, and I do hope to see you writing more funny stories as this! Especially with Spike! :raritystarry:

I was expecting worse. :/
