“We trust that thou hast help up the iron hoof of the law in these past months.”

Should be held up, not help up.

This was an enjoyable read. Was the dragon king a ponification of anything from a real batman comic, or was it completely original?

I don't particularly like Princess Luna as Batman, because Batman's supposed to be a regular human, albeit an awesome regular human, but alicorns are above regular ponies. Even if it's just agelessness, flight, and magic like it seems to be in this fic, alicorns are still inherently superior to regular ponies.

Thanks for the catch.

The dragon king was original. Although I'm by no means an expert on Batman or DC lore, so maybe there are parallels with some villain somewhere.

Yeah, that's a good point. I did it this way because of a few neat, fairly superficial similarities between the two:

* Luna's Royal Canterlot Voice is an amusing stand-in for Batman's growls in the Nolan movies.
* Bats.
* Darkness/nighttime.

And also I wanted to add enough of a pony twist, and enough of my own ideas, to the Batman thing so that I wasn't just writing about The Dark Steed fighting a Joker with hooves.

Glad you enjoyed the story!

6011714 It is annoying when authors just write a copy of another work, but with ponies. I would have preferred it to be more Batman-y myself, but it's definitely better to be original than to be copying something entirely.
