Sequels1

T

To test her mettle as a leader, Princess Twilight Sparkle has been given control of her own nation. Thrust into a new level of responsibility, she begins to realise that, while leading the other Element bearers is easy, running a country is a whole new ballgame — a ballgame which she has no idea how to play.

But with the help of her advisor and her friends, she will eventually come to learn what it truly means to be a leader.

Oh, and if she can prevent one of her new neighbours from invading Equestria, that would be even better.

AUTHOR'S NOTES: Rated Teen for some occasional profanity and violence.

This story is a crossover with the online nation simulator NationStates.

Nationstates, huh? Jeez, that brings back memories.

I love this story, and the voting system!

A strange glowing cloud looms over the land...

If only I were able to resist the urge to make bad decisions.
:trollestia:

I've played Nationstates before, so I know a bit about how it works, and you seem to have missed an option on the poll. Dismiss Issue is a perfectly valid option, and nothing about your nation changes if you choose it. It's basically just choosing to do nothing. As it is, I'm siding with the unions on this one. Just remember that's an option too.

Also, one Issue per day, or one issue per weekday? There's a difference.

Yo dawg.
I heard you doin' the Nationstate stuff so we came to yo' stuff to watch you do your stuff while you do your stuff.

The 'Dismiss Issue' option was missed intentionally, as I plan to introduce it to the story at some point.

Also, it's one issue per weekday.

Thanks for your feedback.

I wouldn't mind knowing the author's view on the situations.
Might write little comment based letters detailing my reactions to Twilight's decision for a bit of fun.
Also: Has anyone checked out http://youthdebates.org I'm sure most of us are in the 15-25 age bracket.

I'm joining this. Count my vote in for this!

5883894
The age bracket?
I believe it was in a brony documentary, the median age was 21. Obviously there are outliers but most of the individuals I've met that are bronies fall within that bracket.

Noice.
You're saying that we're not being invaded because of our arms industry?
We're more use to them alive?
Not the best position to be in if you ask me.
I vote we team up with the other two nations- give them all our arms, overthrow Geo and form a prosperous empire (like the UK- Wales, Scotland and England formed into the UK).
Radical but we'd be free of our most immediate outside threat and have a massive boost in willing citizens happy to work with us (since they don't want to work under Geo- I assume).

In my opinion: set the Tactical Operations Unit on the eco-terrorists.

Also: who was the other user that voted for a repeal regarding the political donation laws?

Bummer, no Tyrant Twilight... at least not yet.

If enough people vote the right way, that could still happen.

While I think its interesting you've included you're readers in decided what happens by identifying them as advisers, Twilight is learning jack shit about leading a government. She comes in, agrees on whatever the advisers decide and then hears the next problem. There is no point in this equation where Twilight faces the consequences of her own decisions as the leader. If something were to go wrong, she can blame it on the advisers and be entirely in the right.

I'm aware of this, and it is intended.

Have faith, for I do know what I'm doing.

Heh... never thought I'd see a cross-over with NationStatesof all things on here, but I guess there's a first time for everything. You had my interest, but now, sir, you have my attention.

...Needless to say, it'd be funny if Twilight was to establish diplomatic ties with other nations outside of her region, nations writers on here control.

Needless to say, it'd be funny if Twilight was to establish diplomatic ties with other nations outside of her region, nations writers on here control.

That's something I could consider.

6585910 Heh... thanks.
...Just don't have Twilight interact with the WA in any way. This coming from a member nation. Lately, it's been a utter clusterfuck.

6586032 And they're better off staying out of the WA. The moment they try to suggest abolishing colonies, I'm giving up my position. Then again, do people reallywanna share a position at the Assembly with Vancouvia, Bitely and the like?

6586079

I don't really care much for the goings-on within the WA. I just stay away and do my own thing. Redman4933 was a member once, but I got them out when I saw how boring it was.

6586082
It's less "boring" and more "The UN is more effective than us at making the world work".
Also, great work on this chapter, as it showed how ruthless the Apocalypse was in its' action and how the three other nations instead decided to co-operate. The Apocalypse sending their men to other nations to wipe out the infected was also an unexpected, yet pleasant surprise, which is sure to leave relationships with Twilightlicious chilly.

If only my region got off its' ass when it came to making a cure. I literally had to rely on my colonies to save a bare 10 million. Out of a billion.

Meat eating...
Banning or taxing it will cause a shit load of trouble.
Moderated meat eating is better if these nuts are so fanatic.
Also...Fluttershy feel oddly weirdly odd weird way.

Yes it does actually...Healthcare is needed for an understanding of many illness and a lot of other things.

Also...How is the meat thing going? Human might be able to survive without meat but, they won't be able to live.
Their health could detoriate either slowly or quickly depend on the environment.

I'm quite a bit annoyed that Fluttershy, the supposedly nature expert and venetarian didn't realized that...or anyone else for that matter.

Yes it does actually...Healthcare is needed for an understanding of many illness and a lot of other things.

That doesn't mean you have to fund it.

Also...How is the meat thing going? Human might be able to survive without meat but, they won't be able to live.

I know a few vegetarians, and they seem to be doing just fine without meat.

I didn't create the game, so getting on at me isn't going to change things.

6590983 Vegetarian still consume products with animal in origin...In a way, they don't completely reject animal nutrient.

I never said they did. The fact remains that meat-eating is frowned upon in Twilightlicious.

If it makes you feel any better, the decision to ban meat-eating actually has no effect on the health of the citizens. At least, I've not noticed any decline since the ban was put into place.

Wow, Geo seems to be a psychopathic dictator. And for some reason, I am picturing him as El Presidente from the Tropico games.

6597388 Nah, El Presidente is a saint compared to Geo. And, y'know, Tropico is actually pretty nice to visit as a tourist...

wow that idiot geo is just asking for twilight to use the biggest and meanest mass kill spell she can find in the royal library

6688444 Yep. So that he has an excuse to bomb her and take over her country.

6688636 uhh if twilight uses a mass kill spell no one is goanna survive it seeing as he has no health care and if she do it correct no one will know it

Death penalty still exist today for a reason...You can't solve everything with sunshine and rainbow. Not Equestria, I think. What's with a huge library of mental related spells.

6690131 you cant solve everything with gloom and doom either... prisons that dont even attempt rehabilitation simply make prisoners more dangerous because they might teach eachother new tricks or make arrangements

Judging by how you run your nation, I'd say I'm clean. Man, thank Chri-... I mean thank Geo I didn't waste my time writing fanfiction! :twilightsheepish:

6770204

It'll be a few days yet, maybe a week. It all depends on what I'm doing.

6770216 DAMN! DAMN IT ALL TO HELL! WHY DO YOU HAVE TO BE SO LAZY YOU- I-I-I'm so sorry Lord Geo! I meant no disrespect! ALL HAIL GEO! OUR TRUE LORD AND SAVIOUR!
*Get's down on hands and knees, and starts kissing your feet*
Please forgive me lord!

incrase of one billion, three-hundred and forty-nine billion, nine-hundred and fifty million.

...What?

I had this issue in my nation of Khrestilune. My animal was the wyvern, though

Four updates in a row? I'm impressed! ...Also, still curious if you're ever going to implement that "Twilight interacts with other countries outside her region" deal.

6771467 Looks exactly the same to me...

6771467 Thank you! Oh thank you righteous and merciful Geo! Your rule is unparalleled in benevolence and wisdom, and the angels sing for you underneath your rule! I shall follow you without question to the ends of the earth M'lord.
