Took me a second to realize what you did there, but then I grinned. That was interesting, to say the least. Dash is right, I think; we're all a cosmic coincidence, and there's no use getting freaked out over it.
Oh man, this is a clever fuck you to people who question every single outcome of causality when discussing time travel. As the editor of a story with time travel at its roots who sees intense debates about this sort of thing, I heartily approve.
Ah, time. The very thing that drives by, constant and eternal. An endless number, coming and going, fading off into the vast, endless space of nothing, and yet, everything.
Time is good.
I love this.

And I was a bit hesitant to read this as this borders way to close to my own existential issues.
Syeekoh, the title of your story combined with the picture makes it seem like Twilight had a different kind of accident.
Well, I enjoyed it. A nice blend of deep and zany. Thank you for it.

Well, then. That was certainly interesting. It was a little... odd, but the moment with Discord meeting himself made it all worth it.
Also, silly Twilight! That's what alternate universes are for! There is a 0% chance you weren't going to exist because this is the universe where you exist. ...I choose to interpret the Dusk Shine moment as either masterful editing or Discord messing with Starswirl.
I enjoy the simplicity of that line immensely. I've kind of learned the same lesson at the end of this story myself, but I still forget it from time to time.

Her changing to Dusk was because Starswirl was messing with time. But it was fixed, so no harm done. At least, no noticeable harm done to Twilight and Dash. Who knows what else could have been messed up.
I believe this is the first you story I have read so far! I figured I should take a break from reading stories to finally read a you story. It was cute!

I think you've got a great idea here, but it was really too confusing for me to really get a grasp on. Maybe it wouldn't hurt to try again later and try to add more word and beef it up a bit, because I can see this making a really great story instead of a little blurb.
I really hope it wasn't just me missing the point completely xD I would do that. And ofc no offence meant to you or your story!!!

Well, you are taking quite a few presumptions here:
Firstly, Twilight, you presume that each individual sperm would carry a very specific set of DNA instead of say, copies of all the others, and the raffle of genetics then happening during fertilization. Further more you presume that in this case of time travel being possible that there only exists a single timeline, streamlining the universe somewhat. Beyond that, you presume that only your material substance, and your experience up to this point make you who you are, as in every single experience. And I think its a bit radical to claim that every experience is essential to create the general feel of Twilight Sparkle. Of course it would be a bit off, but not too off.

I want more Discord and Starswirl shenanigans. Those could be a story in and of itself. Kind of weird seeing Discord being the sort of straight man, though.

5767125 No, she's pretty much right. Any small change could have resulted in her being a completely different person than she is today. Like, say, a change that gives her brother amazing magical potential first, and he becomes Celestia's student instead. Or maybe she has more confidence and doesn't freak out and unlock her true potential at Spike's birth, meaning Celestia never takes her in as her personal student.
Twilight was kinda born lucky and obscenely powerful, and that's one of the major reasons she is where she is.

But those are not minor issues, those are major choices/incidents of her life. That has nothing to do with luck. Unless you wish to boil everything we do down to luck.
Minor choices are things such as choosing wither or not to have breakfast one day.
Wither or not She or Shining became Celestia´s student is not only not minor, but also out of Her power, and into the power of others, who then had to make decisions.
If you wish to chalk everything up to luck, then suddenly people are lacking responsibility, because their actions was no their fault, it was just "Bad Luck".
And I dont know about you, but I would prefer an indeterminate universe with consequences rather than a determinate one in which we are merely observers.

This story is just way to confusing to understand, sadly. Why were Discord and Star swirl time traveling? What the heck is with the gender swapping? And lastly, why is Twilight acting stupid...
