I feel sorry for Dashie. Get the impression that constantly flying takes a lot more effort than, well, walking. And Applejack already saw she was exhausted. Lovely friend, laughing at her for that. ... Sorry, Dashie is favourite character.
Anywho, I like where this is going. Will be tracking.

What do you mean by temporary until you think of something better? Are you saying you don't even intend to finish this fic? There is little I hate more when it comes to fanfiction than someone who starts a fic with no intention to finish it, getting the readers excited and then leaving them hanging.
I dunno, applejack laughing at her just felt natural, and sets up their relationship for later in the story the way I want it to be. sorry, but the characters will be a little different from how you expect, though I'll try to keep them as close to normal as possible, because the Digimon characters are having influences too. of course, the further this goes, the farther from the original show I'll be trecking... I'm looking forward to writing this!
yes, but in this case I was referring to a writer- the guy who wrote Knights of Equestria and I were chatting, and I mentioned that talking to him always put terrible story ideas in my head(Stories, if you feel like reading it, has a similar origin), and when he asked what it was, and I told him, he basically said that now I had to write this.
the temporary is in reference to the short length and low quality of the "Long" description. As soon as I come up with a better teaser I'll be replacing that.
I must say, this generated far more interest than... well, anything I've written before! makes me lol, and makes me happy. currently watching through the first episode again so I can get the interactions and arc right- I need them similar to the show, but just different enough to let the characters shine through and the plot make it's little changes here and there. I hope you'll all stick around for the ride! 
as evidenced by the fact that I swapped mimi and sora's appearances, I'm starting with something similar and twisting it. It's going to have parallels, and they will be very close for the first 3-5 chapters, but from there it will drift away. The same characters will show up, but entire scenarios will be cut off, new ones tacked on, major plot points changed, etc. For example, lets say in the original there's a scene where Tai is seperated from one of the others by a cliff- In this Rainbow will just fly over. But that has a trickle down effect- the characters encountered normally will no longer be encountered there, and so it will alter the course things take just a little bit. any one change will have a minor effect... but when they pile up... and that, of course, is ignoring the differences that the changed concept creates. My plan for Gatomon, for instance, is entirely different from the show- heck, she probably won't even BE gatomon in the same sense, because gatomon was gatomon due to how she grew up, and I'm changing that. I just said gatomon four times in one sentance. clearly I am incapable of using the word "she".

I suppose that this means that at first I'll just be skimming through the stuff. Eventually the pileup will get me.
Kinda reminds me of my personal alternate universes theory, although I don't actually know anything about said topic. Anyways, I think that every time something different could happen, there's a place where it does. Eventually, kind of like what you said, these pile up and make something entirely different.
Oh, by the way, I hate you. I'm going to re-watch Digimon once summer break starts where I am, and it's all your fault.
Or, depending on how you view it, it's because of you in a positive manner.
don't worry, all that hate trickles down to solaris, and I think he can deal with it. after all, Equestrian Knights got more than enough love to counter-balance the whole thing.
Really, I hate myself for this. It's... an awful, glorious idea. The reactions to the story range between "This is amazing
" and "I am literally going to punch you in the face for doing this
". that's something one of my friends actually told me. He wants me to inform him when I finish so he can come over to my house and punch me in the face for writing this. And I said I would, because in all honesty? I'll probably deserve it.
I considered that but didn't for two reasons.
1) it might confuse people. I know I'd probably spend five minutes staring at it.
2) I think it's funny to picture the scene with "Digimon! Magical monsters~!" just for the "wut." response. Hey, I don't get a lot of laughs while writing these things, don't begrudge me those I do! *pouts* :P
is this in responce to the various characters who I made equivalent to other characters?
My only annoyance in this is that Rarity is now the Digidestined of Sincerity, which, while different from honesty, is close enough that it annoys me I can't justify making Applejack=mimi.
I'll be honest, I basically started writing this because a few interactions made me lol. Piedmon and that monkey guy whose name I can't remember in particular strike me as being very fun to work with.
And thanks! I've been working hard on this, even if it doesn't seem like it and other projects have been eating my time. Onwards, to chapter 2! *Stands triumphant*
There's one thing I'm wondering: If Rainbow has Agumon, that means she's Tai, so when it comes time to find the eighth digidestined it would end up being her little sister, but she doesn't have a little sister. Sure she has a certain fanatic who would love more than anything to be her sister
, but they're not actually related.
Also, if you're going to largely parallel the original Digimon series, I assume that also means that even if they don't face all the same challenges at least the major villains will be the same, which would mean they would face, in this order:
Devimon
Etamon
Myotismon
Venomyotismon
Metalseadramon
Puppetmon
Machinedramon
Piedmon (that's gonna be really fun to watch
)
Apocalamon
yes. Because I've been keeping the relationships constant so well already. Pinkie is definitely Applejack's younger sister, and Izzy was Sora's older brother. 
And I agree, Piedmon will be fun... and I'm not sure I'll include Apocalomon. He always seemed rather forced, at least to me. I might end it with Piedmon, he makes a good end villain and makes some measure of sense, at least to my twisted mind.
Though, I wouldn't count metal seadramon, and puppetmon as villains in and of themselves, but rather as henchmen for piedmon. If you notice, he outclasses them by a wide margin, and he gets the citadel on top of the spire. *shrug*
I was joking about the whole family relationships thing.
As for the thing with Apocolamon, in my opinion he's the most badass one of the villains they've had in the Digimon series, at least the most badass of the end-of-season ultimate villains.
Look at the different Digimon series from season one to Xros Wars (I haven't seen the newest one, the followup to Xross wars, so I won't include it) and look at the final villains in each.
Season one: Apocolamon
Season two: Malomyotismon
Season three: The D-Reaper
Season four: Lucemon
Date Squad: King Drazil
Xross Wars: Bagramon
Out of those six, only Apocolamon and Bagramon were truly badass enough to really deserve to be the "ultimate villains" in their seasons. Lucemon almost makes the cut, the D-Reaper and King Drazil were okay I guess (plus they weren't even Digimon), and Malomyotismon was pathetic. Compared to the other five of them, Malomyotismon was a pushover.
yeah.
Hopefully I'll actually get around to doing more work on this at some point. I think once I get past the "uuugh, time to check the episode to see what happened AGAIN" hump and get into being able to forge my own path while still starting from the same point... that's when it'll be fun. :D
