I'm

E

When Celestia was a teenager, her omnipotent parents finally gave her the keys to her own kingdom. However, she was forced to take Luna with her, an annoying brat of a sister who wouldn’t shut up about the stupid moon. And for pony’s sake, Celestia was running a country—she didn’t need Discord and his smelly pets to babysit her.

However, when diplomatic affairs turn romantic, she may (or may not) realize just how far in she is over her head.

Involves canon up to and including season 3 of MLP:FiM.

OK. Before I even think about dipping into this, you're going to have to elaborate on that Tragedy tag. Is it marked Tragedy in the way that "To Love the Moon" is - because really bad stuff happens to certain characters at points - or is it marked Tragedy in the same way Heavenly Turmoil is - the characters we care about lose in the end, and they lose painfully?

Because if this is a "kick you in the feels, and then kick you some more" kind of story then I'd rather know now before I'm liable to be seriously upset when the Tragedy hits.

5599992 Well, the second one--although not terribly painfully, the characters do lose in the end. Definitely not a "kick you in the feels while you're down" kind of thing. There wasn't really a clear definition for the tragedy tag, so I just put it up there because it's not quite SoL and not quite Adventure. I'll remove it for now to avoid confusion, I suppose.

Sad is generally for being somewhat emotional because bad things happen. Tragedy is for when truly terrible things happen. There's still a gamut of Tragedy uses. Unfortunately most Tragedy tags also end the story on low notes - the Tragedy - and then that's it. I don't like those stories.

I've liked your stuff, but I've also had a few switch to Tragedies, and had at least one "light" Tragedy suddenly kick me for everything the tag was worth. So I'm incredibly leery.

5600108 It does pretty much end on the tragedy, so there's that. However, with the way I've outlined it, there will be some pain, but not in a heavy way at all. I'll make sure to get the ending preread first to confirm that. This is still a comedy at heart. This story is fairly light, not intended to be gut-wrenchingly sad or anything. It's up to you. I won't be offended either way.

Sounds like it may deserve a Sad tag more than a Tragedy tag.

5600171 Well, I think having both Comedy and Sad tags is against the rules on Fimfic. Plus, this isn't intended to make anyone cry--again, it's a light story and a comedy at heart. The Comedy tag by itself will do for now, I think.

>Tragedy AND Comedy tags

Does not compute...

u wot m8. Tragicomedy is a genre older than the invention of writing.

Discord? A babysitter? If anything he NEEDS a babysitter.

Well this Celestia deserves all that is coming to her in the future. And let me guess, Tia will try to take away Luna's elements out of obvious jealousy and to get more power to do her job.

Ew, stranger danger.

In any case, this is certainly an entertaining concept. Looking forward to more, especially if the girls' parents come by for a visit. (Well, they're probably too busy with that world of rabbits, but just imagine Celestia's reaction...)

“Do you like my dress?” Celestia turned a little, letting the setting sunlight shine on her sleek, shiny, icy-blue gown.

"My wings are so pretty! Let's fly to the castle!"

If there's a next time, Celestia needs to bring some bling on her date. Maybe some...crystals. :trixieshiftright:

Well, Tia's probably in for quite a bit of disappointment, and Sombra for a fair amount of aggravation. Meanwhile, Luna's probably already made friends with half of the castle's staff.

Well... I didn't see this ending coming :twilightoops: 10/10, would fave and like if I hadn't done so already
I'm guessing the meeting between Celestia and "Nigthmare Moon" during the summer sun celebration didn't go quite the way we imagine, and it involved a quick history lesson?:trollestia:

6325732 Glad to hear you enjoyed it :D

And yes, you'd be guessing correctly. My headcanon is that during the canon episode, there are some things between Luna & Celestia happening offscreen, which might involve a "don't tell anyone what really happened, or else" sort of chat :P

6325771 I would also add an "Now be a good little filly and wait home until I call you, big sister needs to take care of some business to Tartarus with my students and their uncanny ability to find that me-forsaken predictions and prophecies book"

Horee sheet.

Celly be metal all up in this business.

An entertaining tale, but it doesn't quite mesh. Still fun, but all of the characters fit the mold of the official history too well, to say nothing of Twilight actually making the Elements of Harmony work. Speaking of whom, I have to wonder whether or not Celestia plotted her ascension so she could foist off as much as possible to the new princess. (However, I'm not sure if this particular Celestia has the capacity for such a cunning plan.)

Still, a fun read.

All aboard the trainwreck~!
