Lunar Soldier

If I've entertained just one person, I've done my part.

This story is a sequel to Battlestar: Celestia

Commander Marcus Frude, the last known survivor of humankind and acting Commander of the Type 271-BXR Battlestar: Caprica is on the best way to come to peace with the losses of his past, hoping to erase the last of his worries on a peaceful mission to explore the local star system. However, when the Caprica detects a ship jumping in, his past finds a way to catch up with him.

havent read yet, but have high hopes for this!

Onwards to more space pony adventures! :derpytongue2:

And we've already got someone else on the radar. Great.

Oooo, tasty sequel presents itself for consumption :pinkiehappy:.

Wind Burst didn’t need to think twice. His headache all but disappeared as he descended the stairs of his apartment building and lept into the morning sky, shouting “I’m going on an adventure!”

This should be 'leapt.'

I AM SO GLAD TO SEE THIS INTRUDE INTO MY BRAIN SENSES YESSSSS

Just got done with the 1st story and now a wild sequel has appeared. :pinkiehappy:

I'm gonna read this one tomorrow morning. I hope it's just as thrilling and engaging as the last.

Just a heads-up: It's against policy to have an announcement chapter, so that might get taken down soon. I suggest you place it in the last Author's note for any future readers. Just saying!

(I mean the announcement chapter in the prequel to this, in case that wasn't clear)

wait, what!? what about the intruder? curse you rule of cliffhangers, curse you and your ever enticing plot!:flutterrage:

Yay...New battlestar...
I guess this arc is mainly about this new battlestar since the previous one is mainly about the battlestar Caprica/Celestia.

New Battlestar!

Dang, I used to watch Battlestar Galactica, and that music sent chills up my spine.

I love it.

Ok. Literally dieing to see the reaction of the Vindicta's crew to a race of cute little ponies.

I hope Admiral Perinski is nothing like Admiral Cain. She was a grade A Bitch.

It's why I'm wondering if or if not it would have been better for it to have been an enemy contact.

Now we are going to have the argument about rank (commander vs admiral), questioning of where loyalties lie (equestrian vs human), and wether or not the caprica is ready for whatever "combat readiness" is needed for.

Wow. Let me tell you, I just finished marathon-reading Battlestar Celestia, as well as these 2 new chapters.
I'm sorry to say I don't know jack about B:G (which I realize is not crossovered per se, but inspired names and tech in-universe in a truly unique way), but I can say with full confidence that this is an excellent series. The story is gripping and balances heartwarming and badass moments expertly.
I will have to agree with the others and say the few flaws are the pacing and character development. Also, I love your OCs, but I would also like to see more interaction with the mane 6.
I hope you continue this series, as I look forward to seeing what happens.

The summary state the cmdr is the last human alive... So how does he have a crew? How does he have a mission?

6429551 It states 'last known human alive' if you look again.

And circumstances around why the Caprica had only Marcus Frude is covered in the first part, in Battlestar: Celestia.

The Vindicta had more humans aboard likely because they were in a very different situation when poop hit the fan.

I looked up on the minimum number required to be able to rebuild human race and it varied from 24 adults male and female up to a thoudsand or more...With a little bit of genetic engineering thrown into the mix for the lower ends.

IT'S A TRAP!!!

I bet the new humans arn't really human and they only want the report so they can shoot fish in a barrel.

6429551 Just in case you didnt know, this is a sequel story, you might want to read the first if you didnt do that already http://www.fimfiction.net/story/199384/battlestar-celestia

"Have you read the allocations that were being brought against me?"

This isn't the right word. It feels like you were searching for allocution, and that's not even the right word.

An allocution or allocutus is a formal statement made to the court by the defendant who has been found guilty, prior to being sentenced. It is part of the criminal procedure in some common law jurisdictions.

The proper word, which must have occurred to you during writing, is indeed simply "charges."

“I’m sure the Commander has some explanation of why he defected an SSDC warship to an unknown alien species,” Admiral followed up with an uneasy eye.

Again, the word usage here is incorrect; a defector is a person who betrays an allegiance. It could be said that Frude did indeed defect; however, defection usually "...involves abandoning a person, cause or doctrine to which one is bound by some tie, as of allegiance or duty," and because Frude did not abandon his duty, given by the Lord Admiral as "Find a new Earth. Settle. Disappear." He inherited sole responsibility for that mission with the death of the Caprica. It is my view that Frude has not defected to Equestria, as he still presumably maintains citizenship from home.

I digress, however; the point I wanted to make is that a person cannot "defect" something else. Nor would "betrayed" be the correct word, as he betrayed the ship, i.e. revealed it, without even knowing he had done so.

If it were me, I'd probably leave it as "signed over" or "gave."

Oops, guess I wasn't careful enough when proofreading this^^

Yeah, I'm gonna go ahead and say right now that the "Admiral" is planning to pirate the Celestia, as she's in a better state than his vessel. I'm further going to guess that he pirated the Vindicta as well, with absolutely no intention of fighting, but rather fleeing. He'll try to use his control of the two vessels as a means of forcing submission from ponies and humans, setting himself up as "President-for-Life" or some such. He'll make grand speeches about taking the fight to humanity's enemies, but it'll be about securing his power first, foremost, and only. The reason for his dislike of Des? She can keep him out of the Celestia's systems even if he does manage to overcome the crew.

6433781 Allegation is the word you seek to supply to the author :pinkiehappy:.

6437399

Shit. I must have been off my game when I wrote that comment. You're absolutely right; thanks for the check!

Oh boy. I hope this turns out alright in the end for both humans and ponies....

Finally, another chapter.
...
...
...
No! I have to wait...

Also...the ship is finally back online fully.

your story lives

that about sums up how i feel

I do not like that admiral, he's up to something.

Funny, i just started watching battlestar galactica. im on episode 3 now

so...You changed the name from Galactica to Caprica? i thought that caprica was the name of the colony the Galactica originated from

6648820

No, it wasn't exactly a name change. The Caprica in these stories has very little to do with the Galactica, it's a completely different ship.
Regarding your thoughts after the question: Yes, only that both the Galactica and the Planet Caprica are both as fictional in this story's canon as they are in reality.

You have to keep in mind that this isn't an actual crossover, it only kinda looks like one. As you continue watching the series, you'll certainly notice that. And actually, it's stated pretty clearly in the first few lines of the first story's prologue. Basically, the ship design comes from BS:G, but the series has no actual impact on canon beyond that. As a consequence, matching up names between these stories and BS:G won't deliver any useful results.

Mark stood, Nic following suit. “Well, those missiles will never be fired,” Mark said as he picked up the tray and placed it on the auto-wash conveyer. “So you have my green light on this.”

Chekhov's gun?

Well now, this is interesting so far. Lets just hope that the Admiral catches a clue.

Have to ask...Is this still alive?

7345090 Yep... it's just one chapter became two, then became four.
It's a hot mess right now.

7345902 So...You plan to write everything down then post it all?

7345989 We'll see. The next chapter I completely scrapped. Didn't like the way it was going. I'm hoping to get something ironed out here soon.

7354133 Hope you can get it done soon then...Good days to come, mate.

Apparently a swig of whiskey is enough to make a pony become distrustful of humans........ Fucking lightwieght species....

I hope no one hold an idiot ball at this point because it can go very wrong very quick.

I dunno if it was mentioned before or not, but please tell me someone remembered to change the Caprica's command codes, if it had any...

For some reason I don't like nor trust that admiral

Nice DS9 reference :D

Hitting the star track reference now. I can go for a root beer now

nice to see you back please cause a super nova soon:pinkiehappy:

weighing almost twice as much than its suggested mass

I think you meant volume. Something weighting more than it mass suggests implies it is in an unusual gravity well not that it is dense.

New Chapter soon??????
